  • Welcome to another episode of ‪@PastTheWireTV‬
Ticket Structure. It is essential to have any chance of being one of the very few who beat the game of horse racing.
Handicapping, Ticket Structure, and Money Management are the three essentials you need. Discipline is also paramount.
In this Past The Wire TV video Jonathan Stettin talks about his aggressive style of ticket structure. It may not be for everyone, and it certainly is not easy, but Jon breaks it down in a manner that should help every level player and put many in position to do better than they may have ever done in the past.
See how Jon puts himself in a position to make a score and handles day to day ticket structure to have the best chance at success.
Hearing how he does it is invaluable and he has the resume and track record that screams pay attention.
If you like this video you may enjoy a recap of our Belmont Stakes seminar where Jon told anyone who'd listen Mo Donegal would win The Belmont Stakes

So glad I came across this episode.
Everything you say is 100 percent correct Jonathan.
You have to be aggressive and play to win and not be afraid to lose.
I also got my racetrack education from my mother taking me to the track after school.
Always a pleasure to watch your show.

I love horses and i live in Scotland. Found this guy when i searched for how to handicap and love every his word. I am a Maltese and he might be Italian or something and i speak Italian since Malta is a very tiny island 50miles south of Sicily. Wish there was so much depth and knowledge here in the UK but unfortunately there isn't. Love your channel and what you bring to the table. Grazzie Mille!

Great point about taking a stand w horse you like. Singing top of exscta, tri, so when right you clear table. As a teller, I've had a few guys do this. However, we discovered signing at front end of pk3 , pk4, pk 5 w that single is not necessarily the ideal....talking horizontally only. We found for these, find best single. But find one....in the full sequence, not automatically single first race of sequence. This video is extremely useful and folks should review numerous times, make notes, etc. Thanks Jon

I know this is a older episode. But you saying "Todays races are Tougher and more Corrupt!!" You Hit it right there!! Haha sad but true...
You have a great way explaining stuff mixing your past experience with your stories.. adds soo much to these lessons..
"Boxes are for Christmas presents" was classic.. love it. I also fallin into the Box Trap.. " me early on in, playing the horses, where i had loosing tickets, after race looking at the ticket where i said.
"IF I HAD BOXED IT, I WOULD OF WON!!" Haha
All that did was, i found myself making MORE boxed tickets per race, To Cover Horses!!
Yes i have won some big hits..
But ALSO LOST WAY MORE IN THE END.. That one occasional Lucky Big Hit.. Makes you blind and Makes you Chase that bet even more!!!
So your thoughts on boxing bets.. Was really good for me to hear!!!! Ive almost weaned myself off the Box bet, ill occasionally do a CHALK BOX! (when it looks like top 4 are equal but clearly look better than the rest!! And we know how that turns out often.. a bomb blows that bet up 😉
But i really think this video will help me in future now for sure.. ima avid fecta player..
I like your "if i dont have a clear winner in thought, maybe i just wont bet that race" i need to keep that in mind.. so easy to bet every race.. thats a trap in itself!!!
This was one friken great episode!! One of my favorite vids no doubt,
    AbsoluteGoodStuff! Jon..

Yep. At cheap tracks it is often the Super the ONLY 4 horses bet 6to1 or less. Hey try keying one in first and second and increasing base amount. Gluck. You gonna Win just know You can do it consistently..you can

I heard you a while back talking about your super strategy. I use it and have had success. Before I would eliminate horses in the 3rd and 4th position. I realized that the ticket price might be a few bucks more but catching some of those huge price horses makes the super payout bigger than the triple sometimes.

Thank you for delivering your knowledge
to make us better. For me discipline is the key. I cant WANT to win. If I do my ticket expands and the cost goes up!
After watching previous vids on your channel , I found that voice. Trust your handicapping. Look into the pp's , chalk players go broke too. Thank you for the insight.

Constructing a ticket and betting property is actually more difficult than picking winners .. how many times I left the track picking 5 winners and losing money ? Many times actually. Very informative video

Jon I enjoyed your video on how to structure tickets! You did a very good
      job.However I know
anything can happen in a horse race. 2017 at Saratoga I missed on the 2nd leg of a
      ($.050) P/4 ticket that paid ($14,000)I
      had two P/4 tickets
      & two P/3 tickets that paid ($3,000+)
each my horse was (8/1)and I lost by a
      nose at the wire!
The last race my Longshot horse paid ($100.00)+ to
win all total I lost both P/4 and (P/3)
      tickets by a nose!
So I know what it feels like when something like that
happen to a horse player.Keep giving
      out very good information. Thanks

Jon- From a fellow Brooklyn paisan (A. Lincoln HS), thanks for a very informative and helpful video on being decisive when setting up tickets. Will refer to the video multiple times to reinforce the strategies. One question on exactas- if 1 of your choices for 2nd place is a price (say 15-1 or more), does it make sense to reverse that with the top pick, in addition to betting cold exactas with top pick only?

    • @PastTheWireTV
      @PastTheWireTV  Рік тому +2

Grazie Thomas, all the best! It does make sense, I just don't do it. Sometimes it stings me but I play for long term results and try and keep to what has worked over time. I'd always rather put that budget or money on the other exacta and have it more times. Stubborn but it does work for me.

Out of everyone that proports to beat the game 99% of them are full of crap.
I dont think there are more than 5 to 7 guys in the country that beat the game but 250 guys will make the claim. And horse racing ( out of all forms of gambling ) might be the hardest game to beat as there are countless ways to get beat. Trying to grind the game might be worse yet as you need to over come a 15 and 20% house edge. Guys who made Huge Pick 6 scores two or 3 times of say 250k or more each time might maybe be ahead of the game but thats about it.

    • @PastTheWireTV

I think there are a few more than that. I know 3, none depend on rebates. I get rebates and nice ones but don’t depend on them. They are nice though. If you can rebate and CAW players it’s definitely more.

You USE TO be a professional player ? Why would anyone quit when they are winning ?
Just doesnt make a whole lot of sense

    • @PastTheWireTV
      @PastTheWireTV  Рік тому +1

I have explained that many times. I still play and do well, I do not play for a living anymore. I never quit. Game has changed and I am older. It was always tough, tougher now. There are many reasons for that.
