    Funny - I own a LR rwd model 3 and am considering trading it for a 19 STI. You're going to miss having a car with a soul; maybe you already do. I LOVE EV's, and the model 3 is an incredible car for 95% of your average person. It's an incredibly high tech car, amazingly quick, good handling, etc. But it has no personality, and the interior is just too minimalist for my taste. I think there will be alot of car guys that end up being seduced by a tesla, only to miss why they love a car so much. Different strokes though.

    How we Americans get lazier having the car drive itself for you.......or my neighbor with a remote control just to flush their toilet. I would have been very impressed if you bought this Tesla and kept Elsa as well. Congrats anyways.

    Luxurious and Minimalist? Interesting. Sounds like this is a phone on wheels.. Congratulations on your Tesla, although I miss seeing Elsa(Sure, you still have a subie).

    I have no qualms with electric cars and would love to own one as a daily some day. But it feels like I just lost a brother on the automotive battlefield. I’ve driven a couple p100ds and have had the arguments with my friends and coworkers. They are cool practical and fast. But they can never replace the feeling of a high horsepower high boost six speed making all kinds of fun noises in a way that you had tuned and built for your own enjoyment. God I hope that aspect never completely dies in my life time

      No doubt that it’s a vastly different driving experience. Some may find it better and others may find that it’s missing something. For me personally, I love it. It’s very different, but in a good way. When I drive my Forester XT it now seems antique, slow to respond and sloppy in many ways. I know, I know. Weird comparison. It won’t be for all auto enthusiasts and I’m sure many will prefer what you describe, but I do think the change is inevitable.

      ElsaSTI I suppose we can respectfully agree to disagree. Sounds like you understand and respect that too

    Sorry to hear that you don't have sti no more. I understand. I still drive 2018 sti limited, here in Chicago. Anyway how is tesla driving on snowy condition?

      norway is flooded with teslas, ask them, the cold weather works just fine for the batteries

      Handles great. Even RWD Tesla’s do well given the different weight distribution than traditional RWD cars. The computer does a great job of pulling power and gaining traction on slick surfaces to get you moving. My AWD is a tank even on all-season tires.
      Anddd, I do miss my STi. It’s a great car- nothing against it at all!

      I live in Buffalo NY with a RWD long range Model 3 (my previous car was a WRX). I was surprised at how well it drives in the snow, even with all seasons, although I've since put snows on like all my other cars.

    I traded in a 2015 WRX (modded to over 320hp) for my Model 3. I know how you feel :)

      What’s your impression so far?!

    • @Kuth70

      @@ThatWhiteTesla Comparatively speaking to the WRX, the major changes are pretty obvious.
      Noise: I also had a nameless "muffler" that did little to muffle the noise.
      Shifting: Moving from a 6-speed manual transmission to a... well.... no transmission, was a hell of a change. I drove only stick for the last 24 years.
      Quality: WRX was an econobox with a turbo strapped to it. I feel like I'm riding in a luxurious marshmallow now.
      That "boy racer" image is now gone. Cops don't look my was as much. Although I've had a number of people try to race the model 3, and maybe they lost every time ;)
      On it's own merits the Model 3 is everything I think the future of cars will look like. In 10 years Model 3 won't be special any more, and that will be a good thing.
      What REALLY surprised me was the winter driving. I expected it to be terrible. RWD and all seasons. Nope... It was astounding how well the electric motor and traction control worked together. Tesla has some wizardry going on in their software to make that happen. Now with snow tires is damn near perfect. I can only imagine what the dual motor is like.

    • @ThatWhiteTesla
      @ThatWhiteTesla  5 років тому

      Yeah, the RWD does pretty damn well in the snow thanks to the weight of the drive motor over the rear axle; opposite traditional ice vehicles- hence the reputation for poor snow traction on RWD ICE cars.
      I even considered RWD- but living in the Rockies I had to go dual motor. We’ve only had one snowfall thus far in Denver and the way the computer manages power is indeed phenomenal!

    2015 STI owner here, Tesla is the way to go. I have been eying the Model 3 with dual motors but hoping for Model 3 P100D.

    • @ThatWhiteTesla
      @ThatWhiteTesla  5 років тому

      The dual motor Model 3 is a mid 12-second car, quite snappy with the instant torque. The performance Model 3 is available, and if you get the full performance package comes with “track mode.” Car runs low 11s- check them out.

    • @Kuth70
      @Kuth70 5 років тому

      The performance Model 3 is the best you'll see for that model for a long time. 3.3sec 0-60 is nothing to sneeze at though.

    All you STI owners eyeing model 3s? Was the STI that bad? I'll never trade my evo for a model 3. I don't know any evo owner who would do that. If you think about fun to drive, an easy stock turbo E85 tuned Evo is already faster than a model 3 dual motor and almost as fast as a Model 3 Performance. I just don't get all the craze for the model 3. There is no 6 speed or sound either. The only thing I'll give it is that it is more economical.

    • @ThatWhiteTesla
      @ThatWhiteTesla  5 років тому

      Well that’s comparing a modified car to a stock car. Not exactly a fair comparison.
      Stock vs. Stock the Model 3 gaps the Evo, and STi for that matter. Instant torque, FTW.
      It’s way more economical if you ignore sticker price difference.
      It’s way, way more luxurious and comfortable.
      It drives itself.
      I never need to see another ⛽️ as long as I live.

    • @Cal3000
      @Cal3000 5 років тому

      @@ThatWhiteTesla You can't really mod an electric car. What you have is what you got. There is no appeal to that; at least for me. In the most cases with the Model 3, you will always be slower than an Evo since almost no one leaves the car stock.
      EV is more economical, yes.
      It's more luxurious and comfortable, but its boring. I don't want a car to drive me or give me a back rub. It's not an enthusiast car.

    • @J.NOBODY.1
      @J.NOBODY.1 5 років тому

      Cal3000 still can be an enthusiast car. Just cause you like to modify your car doesn’t make you more of an enthusiast than someone who doesn’t.

      Well I don't own an STI, but I have an 2002 WRX with an STI 6 speed conversion. My brother owns a 2022 dual motor model 3 and I have driven it and I can tell you NO WAY I would trade my car for the model 3.
      If you are tired of driving a sporty car and considering something like a Lexus LS, I would give the model 3 a go. It's like a Lexus with better acceleration.
