I’ve had an x pipe and h pipe. I love them both. They both can make a car sound really good in their own way. Looking forward to seeing the process of this build I’m following👍🏻
@@AutoExec1 I’ve got a 2000 gt and it’s basically a full bolt on. Only thing I’m missing is long tube headers but that’s coming soon and a set of 3.73s. Definitely a good platform to have as a project car
Great mustang you found, and doing what your doing is great. Real difference between the h and x pipes are the x pipe gives you a bit more power over the h, yet its all in the engine's health. The x is definitely louder, and like most they believe its extra power..a built engine and some mods the x will out perform the h every day of the week. I have known all types of speed freaks from race shops to do it yourselfers in their garage, and each has their own taste. My era is the original 5.0 foxbody, and I have helped build many of those in my life. U live this generation Mustang also, not a real fan of the 4.6..they are good engines. Foxbody and original 40s were so common in the 80's and 90's..original 40's sound good on the 4.6, for a true sound on these engines the super 44 is the best. Install a pair of these and keep the x pipe..it will sound almost like the h pipe..but better.
Thank you I appreciate that, I've heard the X pipe gives more power that's one of the reasons I went with the X pipe. Man I love Fox bodies. I knew a guy in high-school that had an 88 fox with that exact exhaust (flomaster 40s with the O/R H) it sounded good. He was beating guys with the 90's trans ams with the LT4. I may have to go with 44s then. Cause that H sounded good.

Not a fan of pressure washing the battery or alternator but I’m sure Ford knew this would happen and addressed that. Might need MIL eliminators or after market O2, places like Steeda and American Muscle can get you what you need if the check engine light comes on and she starts running rich after the exhaust work
Yeah, ive never had any issues spraying the engine bay with these cars. when I got the X pipe put in we looked and the o2 sensors are not there. That's at the top of my list for sure.
@@AutoExec1 No, its sounds good. What mufflers/catback are you running? If you go with some SLPs, you'll get a little more of that sounds you want. Also LTswill really make it roar - but they are pricey and a pain to install.
@@beerwrenchgarage it's catless (all the cats) to a flomaster 40. The X pipe is almost all the way back to the mufflers. I was looking at pictures and it should definitely be closer to the back of the transmission. I don't know if that would even affect the sound. But I've watched videos of other GT's with this same setup and they sound WAY better. I am definitely doing something like outlaws or 10 series.

What’s the safety way to lift this car? I have a 95 4.8L. I want to add at least 3 inches to. I don’t like the lift cup options, hoping to lift it using normal parts that are taller?
make sure its a true cold air intake not one sucking in hot engine bay air thatll lower performance and get a plastic intake manifold plastic wont hold heat i personally like the H pipe its deeper and wont give you that raspy tone if you remove those flowmaster 40s which id recommend cause those flow like a turd its gonna be raspy as hell id go with some vibrant resonators those 2Vs can sound amazing with very little work great vid ill have to subscribe

@@AutoExec1 wouldnt go with anything chambered itll restrict flow i only stick with straight through mufflers or no mufflers at all my 5.0 just has hi flos H pipe and vibrant bottles its loud when i get on it but its pretty chill just cruising. for intake just a quick google search ppl recommend the K&N high flow filter remove snorkel from the airbox, and remove the air silencer screen from in between the airbox and MAF. apparently the stock intake is fine id assume that as well seeing as its just a 4.6 2v it wont need alot of air and all the aftermarket intakes are metal so itll just suck up heat

@@AutoExec1 I have shortys. There isn't that much of a big selection for long tubes on my model year. In your case I would get long tubes

Once u do cold air intake n bbk t-body it sound more loud n mean with x pipe n really mean Flowmaster outlaws mufflers too you'll get what looking for

You mean like a SLP LM1 style muffler? I do also like the H pipe too. But in my opinion the cats have to go no matter what.

I honestly don't know. They were there when I got it and couldn't figure what Purpose they served.

I've never had any issues with these cars doing that. But I wouldn't spay super close for long periods. I can't say the same with other cars though.
