    I just wanted to thank you! Until I watched your videos, I had given up on my skin improving because it didn't have obvious problems. A month after using some of the products you've suggested (all five Kinship products, Paula's Choice 2% BHA, TO niacinamide and buffet), the purging is almost done (😭 awful) and my skin is so much smoother and happier... Something I never thought was possible for my dry, dry winter skin.
    You've really changed how I view my face. You're an amazing science communicator, and I'm just so glad I found your work.

      I JUST bought both of these!!! Paula's Choice should be here this week and literally got the cleanser today. I have combo skin, looking to help with my large pores and sebaceous filaments, and with summer in Texas coming up, my oil control is going to be more important! I just started my skin care journey in December 😊
      I was thinking of using the SA cleanser regularly morning/night and the Paula's Choice twice a week at night, alternating to the Cerve Foaming Facial cleanser on nights I use the Paula's Choice. I'm excited to see what these do for my skin!

    thanks for this video! i have sensitive, combo, super acne-prone skin with lots of clogged pores. it's just a mess! i've tried plenty of salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide treatments in the past, but they dried my skin out terribly and i've been more keen to stick to gentler, more nourishing ingredients. i finally went ahead and got the ordinary's niacinimide with zinc, the SA mask, and the retinol serum, and i've been slowly working them into my routine as needed. your video on niacinimides helped me so much btw! my skin has definitely been purging, but i've noticed that it seems to be less irritated and inflamed and clogged pores are more readily extracted. i've used the SA mask once now and was surprised that it didn't irritate my skin at all! i made sure it was off in under ten minutes and it left my skin feeling a bit more smooth and much less oily. hopefully using it weekly is enough and makes an impact like the niacinimide has! now to look into the retinol.....

    I've been using the cosrx blackhead power liquid and this product together with niacinamide has smoothened out my forehead texture soooo much!! It even lessened the fungal acne on my forehead. I got this product because I was only starting out with BHAs and it was really helpful! I do plan on trying out the Paula's Choice 2% BHA for my sebaceous filaments and blackheads on my nose (despite its name, the COSRX blackhead liquid didn't really do much for my blackheads haha)

    Honestly its been so long I’ve suffered with acne and now I’m down to little acne but a lot of clogged pores and texture. It’s so unfair I couldn’t enjoy my life to the fullest from the age of 10 because that’s when i started having acne. Ive tried all the products like salicylic acid, glycolic acid but literally nothing works for my skin to unclog or even smooth the texture. I use products for at least 1 month and not mix with other products to make sure I don’t get irritations etc. I’m so so tired already honestly i give up its not fair i had to deal with acne at such a young age.

      Well it's not about what you put on the skin as most would have you think. It's more about your genetics hormone and diet plays a huge part. Try to look at the internal rather than the external, eat lots of vegetables, fruits, water, and supplements. Stay away from dairy, fried foods, sugar, and junk food in general. Start eating clean do some research about gut health and you'll see a world of difference, Id say acne is 90percent internal and 10percent external, this is also coming from somebody who's suffered from acne since grade 4. I'm 25 now still have some pimples but it all really flares up due to diet. Some miracle foods you should try eating and researching are raw garlic and onions, best of luck.

      @@ayla8345 Maybe benzoyl peroxide will work for you. I'd recommend the Panoxyl 4% Benzoyl Peroxide creamy cleanser for starting. They also have a 10% benzoyl peroxide cleanser which they call 'foaming' which I'd assume is for oily skin. Whichever skin you have, you should start with the lowest percentage of benzoyl peroxide, as it is very drying. Because it is drying, make sure you are moisturizing correctly, and I'd recommend using a moisturizer with hyaluronic acid because it is a humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the air into your skin. I hope this helps 💕

    The stridex is a holy grail if done right. If you leave it on your face and wash off after 20-30 minutes, you'll get the benefits of the BHA while not having the irritation from the fragrance and menthol.

    I started using a lot of korean skincare and enjoying quite a bit of it, but I was very confused as to how I was using all these "bha" and "salicylic acid" products and my acne/whiteheads was actually starting to get worse. Then I found out about the low percentages and the tendency to use willow bark extract or betaine salicylate instead of the 2% salicylic acid my skin was used to. So my plan is to use up what I have and then try out some of the products from The Inkey List and Good Molecules. If they don't work for me then it's back to the more expensive french skincare for my acne treatments with supplemental korean products for soothing and hydration (because you can pry my ginseng/snail/galactomyces/green tea toners and serums out of my cold, dead hands LOL)

    • @vegan_guac
      @vegan_guac 2 роки тому

      Yes! People don't understand that they need true salicylic acid and not just a derivative of it like these other products use,but this is due to all this misinformation out there.

    Hi Cathy, thanks for the useful explanation!
    I need a suggestion here. I'm currently already using Paula's Choice 2% BHA Lotion Exfoliant every night. After some research, I'm thinking of adding Paula's Choice 25% AHA 2% BHA Exfoliant Peel into my routine. I'm supposed to wear it once a week right? So can I still continue with the 2% BHA lotion on other nights that I'm not wearing the 25% AHA 2% BHA Exfoliant Peel? or should I stop the 2% BHA lotion completely?
    Any comments from anyone are appreciated!

    I have started to use the Corsx blackhead every day! I do not have active breakouts, I used to because of PCOS but the pills have controlled that now. but I still like to use it and makes my pores very small. It does not strip my skin, it is very gentle. I really enjoy it because my skin is sensitive and has become dry
