If East holds the king of spades, you don't need another entry. You're still in dummy, and you can keep running spades until East is forced to overtake. I think the only danger is a 4-1 trump split with West holding the long trump and a singleton spade - and if that were the case, I suspect West would have led the spade, largely solving the club problem.
