I love the man who does the music for Dr. Who, He really knows how to set up a theme with music. You can just feel the majestic presence of Gallifrey.

You know, I like he bit in the middle, but I always found myself wishing that the harsh bits at the front and end were tempered down. I guess I understand why it would be done that way, ending in harsh drumbeats, cymbals, and trills, but I think that in-between section is one of my favourite bits of music ever. It was almost perfect, at least for me.

I miss Murray Gold as much as I miss the Doctor and Dr.Who. Murray and his inspirational melodies are history. The Doctor is gone and the show sits, stranded, on earth with the Tardis.

6:44 amazing how majestic and beautiful that moment in the song is, how it makes us feel. This is the timelords this is the doctors home planet, the doctor we care about so much. It makes us happy, because when this plays the doctor isn’t alone anymore. But we know the tinelords have changed and this music no longer captures their image.
I love this so much, especially the build in the middle. Beautiful composition.

I always imagine Gallifrey as a cross between Ancient Greece (Athens Mostly) and Atlantis so when I imagine Gallifrey I always see all the culture and art from Athens and how so much of it is lost or forgotten now days which is kind of why I rooted for the Time Lords in the end of time episodes.
If you actually watch the classic series you wouldn't have to imagine what Gallifrey is like because there are many stories set on the Planet.
Daniel Cronau true but when capaldi finds gallifry, they will redisign it, and besides that the old one had green grass not red no snow and green kleaves not silver and a blue sky so i wouldnt take much into what the classics have to say, i have watched every episode in cronological order 3 times all 800 of them, and dozerns more times incase

Actually I think only the Dead Zone from the Five Doctors had a blue sky. I believe the invasion episodes with the Sontarans had a burnt orange sky.

From what was seen in both the classic and new series, I'd say Gallifreyan design and art esthetics are a mix of the two things you've mentioned with the sensibilities of older, pulpier SF (all those bright, colourful and inventions-obsessed magazine covers from the 1930s come to mind) and a kind of more organic type of steampunk. Kind of retro-futuristic, though in an alien sort of way. After all, even the Doctor's TARDIS has a control console littered with technology of incongruous levels: He has LCD-like displays, but also huge dials and a throttle lever that looks like it came from an old-fashioned plane, etc. I think what really works with Gallifrey and its civilisation is that it does look sufficiently "blended" and alien, even if some of the individual designs might be mildly goofy at times (the Time Lord ceremonial headgear is a bit amusing). :-)

I love the sound of water flowing, maybe in some old pipeline... It sound beautifully to me, like something life-giving, hopefull and I have feeling that the water whispers something.
