- For those hunters that use their quads while out on the hunt it is important to remember that the same rules apply to the use of your side by side while out in the woods as do while out on a recreational ride.

Uwharrie national forest in nc doesn’t require helmets riding utv or plates. Just a $5 permits per vehicle every ride or $30 for the season.

No helmet laws in Montana for atv or motorcycles.

just for your info this is a public property or "official" off road tracks where police can and are present. it if was a private propriety they could simply be kicked out.

that's what ALL cops duties are these days. they have quotas to get for the precinct. that's why they don't actually patrol anymore, instead, they pick their sweet spots and sit and catch every car going by. easier way to increase the possibility of fines.

a semi pave road and a dirt road oooaaaaaa, sorry can think of one,, ill give a ticket just the same. These and many other stupid laws have to change.

but the cops had their bikes on that road....oh that's right, they don't have to abide by the laws that we do.
and I like how they played dumb, saying they weren't aware they had to wear helmets. their friends were wearing them.
but it's complete BS that our bikes are licensed and plated and they still can't operate on roads, AND we have to wear helmets even out on little trails going putt-putt. but, people can ride all over on the city streets on those scooters, without plates, with NO helmets, and never follow any rules of the road, AND they are usually sick/elderly, so high probability that they are medicated and shouldn't be operating anything. but can't go after them, easier to collect fine $$ from people who can afford a helmet and an atv/utv and can license it.
its because its not the same laws, the helmet thing is under some sort of "sports and recreation law" and roads are under motor vehicle acts ( i know for quebec but i don't know their names for ontario... opp= ontario)

No rules for riding gear in Montana so come on and move to a state that the police do not harass you about a helmet buckle for god sake.
I live in Australia and if I could I would move to Montana in a heart beat I love Australia but Montana is one beautiful place that I would love to bring my kids up in without all the bullshit
