Anyone not getting the full range of the T Fit / Glide Lock, I recommend the Uncle Seiko half link they do for the BB58. Perfected this watch for me 👌🏼
Great review mate! I hope to pull the trigger soon, it’s a great looking watch! My only concern is the lume but I have read that someone people say it’s lacking. How does the lume compare to your OP and/or the BB58 you had?
I agree 100% with what you said about the BB58. I ended up selling mine because I could never connect with it because the vintage aesthetic was just a little too overdone, IMO. I think the 54 strikes a better balance in that regard.
Same here. I've now got the full range of the T - glide. Totally improved the wearability for me. Before it was either too loose with the extra link fully closed or too tight without the link fully open.
I feel the BB58 is the best Black Bay in the collection. There is a warm charm to the 58 coming from the gilt bezel. It has a nice pop of color from the red Triangle that is also found on the vintage Rolex Big Crown. The 58 design borrows cues from Rolex/Tudors of past without being an exact replica. The big crown again harkens back to the Rolex Big Crowns of the past. Also, at 39mm it sits comfortably on most wrists.
It is “gilt” not “guilt” . Yes, you are correct it has no historical precedent. That “gilt” is an original design added to the bezel and combines well with elements of older Tudors. Like I said the 58 is not an exact replica but rather a new interpretation with original designs added like gilt bezel, coin edge matching crown, Snow Flake seconds hand). The 58 is it’s own design, the 54 is a replica. Nothing wrong with that I just prefer some originality.
Don’t get me wrong the 58 is a great watch, but the proportions on the 54 are just next level good. You really need to try on this watch to appreciate it. I’ve owned both, and I’m falling more in love with the 54 every passing week, while I eventually fell out of love with the 58. That says a lot in my opinion! And no I don’t think the 54 is a replica at all, it is a modern reinterpretation through and through. 😅 Thanks for watching!
I tried on the 54 , and i was surprised how bigger it felt in reality. Didnt look any smaller than the 58 in reality. Just thinner. It alas was too small for my 19cm wrist , so i will stay with my 41mm bb .
Seriously?! Here in Hong Kong with Tudor it’s getting easier to get watches at the AD, O got the heritage Black Bay from my AD just a few days after launch. This one seems to be harder to get, which is why I was very lucky someone was interested in trading mien for his. Hope you can get it sooner, it’s a great watch!
@@mariog7213 no problem in Britain even if you’re standing outside looking in the window they come and drag you in put the lamp on you and force you to buy one. I have a number of Washes I must admit this is my favourite I was born in 54 I love the vintage love it will be my last watch I promise.
@frankiewatch I agree we will most likely never see drilled lugs again that why I covit the ones I own. To me they are old school cool. Probably one of the reasons I have no interest in their current offerings.
This watch is yet another example of why people buy actual vintage watches it's way too heavy and it is extremely uncomfortable to wear it is another wrist punishing shitbox and this is exactly the reason why people buy vintage Rolex because they don't f****** hurt
Is this the definitive Black Bay? Hit me up in the comment! Thanks for watching and supporting Frankie Watch! 😊
I got one late May and it hasn't come off yet. Fantastic watch.
Agreed! It’s hard to take off! Truly one of Tudor’s best efforts! Wear in good health!
I love mine so much, it is my 1 watch collection
Very good choice for a one watch collection! 😃
I totally agree I just picked up this watch. Beautiful
Yes this is the real modern vintage sub
Agreed! A really great modern reinterpretation of a vintage Sub/Tudor submariner!
@@frankiewatch Yeahya, and thanks to big mouths like you we wont be able to buy one. Way 2 go
I love it!
Thanks for the review, Frankie.
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching! 😃

Thanks for sharing!
Just bought mine. Agree 100% with everything you said.

It’s my one and only daily wearer
A great choice indeed!
Frankie, I’m deciding between the 54 and the Pelagos. Which would you choose if you had to choose?
I bought the P39 2 months ago and while I think it is a great watch, I’m just not clicking with it. I’m now looking to sell the P39 for the bb54.
Always funny to see Zombies of the oversized watch craze realizing that smaller sized watches are actually the superior choice.

Great analysis! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
if my current watch (seiko) has the same lug to lug measurement as the bb54, would this fit about the same as my watch?
I plan to get this watch as my everyday watch but is it true that the lume will not last you through the night?
Yes I want one ! The best bb yet..no red triangle ..love it
get a half link from Uncle Straps, I did for mine and it's made all the difference.
Thanks for the tip!

Waiting for mine
Hope you can get it soon!

The guilt on the bezel looks dumb and has no historical precedent

On a waitlist for this at my local AD. Expected waiting time; +/- 1-2 years 😂🥲

That’s crazy. My AD sent me a text offering me one. I haven’t bought from them since 2020 🤷♂️
No way here you register and they call you in the next few days 😅

looks nice
Thanks! Yeah it’s a beauty on the wrist!
Thank you
You’re welcome! Appreciate the views and support! 😃
10:50 🔥🔥❤️👍👍
Love this watch!
Drilled lugs would have made it even better.
I like the clean no drilled lugs look though! I don’t see Rolex/Tudor ever going to drilled luges ever again. Thanks for watching!
