You guys they have different names for it. It could be referred to as flyer, top person, or even topper. Just because you don't use it doesn't mean its not right.

Kayleigh were you trying out for school cheer or competitive? Cause making you do stunts for school tryouts seems terrifying. It would make more sense to wait and see who is on the squad

I'm a Backspot too and our flyer once fell on my head, so I was scared for a while. But just try to move your head slidly to the side and catch high. you got this!

Do you have any tips as to how to keep a lib-extension steady? My stunt group knows how to do them, but we struggle with keeping our flyer steady in the air
also when your catching cradles go down with it instead of freezing because the force hurts the flyer especially higher up. so think about it like when you jumping it's not the jump that hurts, but the impact when you hit the ground. so go down with the flyer and come up like a trampoline so they don't smack your arms

colonel kat if you cratle as a flyer, you don’t do anything, except stay stiff and have your hands in a position to after they cratle you, you are holding the base’s shoulders’. Don’t bend your legs whatsoever, and don’t look down. At my school we don’t have assigned roles, our coach picks different people, but for some reason I usually am chose to fly, and I’ve cratled about 4 times, and honestly it’s really easy, i think they’re easier than smushes, but that’s my opinion..
I had the same fear! I got over it after awhile I realize that you have to squeeze my muscles and lock my legs out. As long as your tight and not wobbly your bases got you.

Help!!! Every time I cradle I pike like right away even tho in my mind I'm like "push your hips out before PIking" and even if I do try to push them out I just go backwards out of control! Help how do I do a clean cradle without poking right away
•AllieGrace• as a flyer all i can say is to trust your bases and use your abs. try to like squeeze as much as you can. also lock out your leg and stand up fast. finding your center of gravity is EVERYTHING. but just make sure you’re trusting your bases and make sure they’re going up fast enough too. good luck with your libs you’ve got it :)

Jennaca yee yee It could depend on the height. I know some of my bases aren’t the same height so what we do is ,one person(the taller person) may have to bend with their knees to match the height of the other one(the shorter). Make sure that everyones is locked out .
For some reason I’m too scared to do the cradle because when I first did it I made my bases bonk their heads and then the second time I hit my friend in the face with my elbow so like I’m Terrified

Late reply but you could try suggesting more interesting dismounts/stunts! Like a show-n-go to a smush maybe, or a sweep(super old fashioned I know), a pop off, maybe one of those front flip things? One of the coolest looking ones is a full down or maybe double, or a half down where the flyer ends up backwards, it’s crazy
The load in shouldnt be hunched back her bum should stick out, the bases should be close apart to make the flyer easier to hold and less weight on the joints, the backspot should be under the stunt with one foot forward one back and the backspot should never catch under the arms as this can pop out a shoulder- the should always use the palms of their hands under the shoulder blades to protect the majority of the upper body :)
Sydney Jardine A lot of ways actually heres a list: 1. The bases are way too far apart when they should be touching 2. The flyer's feet are apart in load 3. The flyer's feet are apart in extension 4. The bases are not gripping the whole foot

Avery but they have to know who can do the stunts so they can be on the team are they just gonna pick people and then they won't be able to do it like

Go too cupie or however you spell it. The bases werent under the flyer. Thats why they were struggling. You could see the bases shaking.
