I am happy the people in the comments here know the truth about the Okinawan diet. I work with Dr. Suzuki and often accompany him when people from all over the world interview him. I hope to continue his work of spreading Okinawan longevity to the world as he is now 90 years old and an example of a longevity person :) He still works at the hospital as a doctor at this age! I am inspired by him and hope I can inspire others, especially in this day and age where obesity and illness are rampant.
This remarkable doctor has a belief that collagen in pork contributes to longevity. Everyone should know that the Okinawans eat a lot of pork, but be cautious of the anti-health folks that have blatantly lied and said that Okinawans are mostly vegetarian and eat little meat.
No one is claiming that okinawans are vegans. No Blue Zone areas are. Way to sound disingenuous. The point is, they mostly consume a plant rich diet with MINIMAL non-plant foods.

I think he said diet culture...
if its meat then why is it that there are only 5 bluezones when a lot of people eat a lot of meat including USA
Meat should be the side dish, colorful organically home grown veggies the main course
@@Jess_Tropical_jungle I agree

As he explains, a key healthy component of the traditional Okinawan diet was the pork they ate. See: "Blue Zones Dietary Myth"
