What a lovely thing to say. You just made my day. Thank you, and congratulations on a long-lasting cleaning career. I appreciate you helping me leave the world a cleaner place. 🙏
Thank you for all your tips and advice. Two specifics that has made my cleaning process so much better. One; "touch it only once" has streamlined my process and removed the chaotic approach to my routine. Two, the product "Force of Nature" is perfect product for me. Thanks again.
I would like to share that my Daughter we go does have a maid service that comes every 2 weeks one point that I have noticed is She supplies all cleaning supplies, brushes sponges and chemicals. Vacuums and mops. If they need new they leave a note. This started many years before the Pandemic and accelerated during to make sure items she prefer were on hand or similar when supplies were limited. Also to make sure of no cross contamination which to keep working her cleaning company just went across the board that each home or businesses had their own supplies on hand. Even just recently my Daughter said all residential clients of this Company stayed on plus continue to have individual supplies in each home.
Excellent tip, can not be said enough, about using paper towels instead of sponges to prevent cross contamination where raw meats were cut/prepared & spilled egg whites landed.
You are hired!!!! You're so fast when it comes to cleaning. I already cleaned siding, , lighting , porch, deck , patio, doors, etcc with the sprayer. Cleaned the outside windows, doors. Monday started cleaning bedroom 1, windows, funitures, mirrors, etccc. I will be organizing each room , getting rid of what we don't need. I figure it will take12 days ( give or take ) after that I'll be done. Continue cleaning daily. This has taken me at least 3 weeks completely. Oh darn I need to clean my vehicle. lol
LOL. Debbie, you are on a roll. My goodness, that is a LOT of cleaning, and congratulations. It sounds like you have a lovely home. I'm here rooting for you, clapping and cheering your name. 👏👏👏
I use disposable wash cloths like the intex cloth rags i buy at walmart for 10 to 12 bucks i keep for tomes like this to clean up after meat or eggs spills u get 300 in a box love them
I used scotch brite for years, then i tried o-cedar sponges and they are much better, they are as soft as scotch bright, but last and last without breaking apart like scotch bright. I used a o-cedar for 6 months until the sponge started splitting a little, but it never got as bad as the scotch bright. Give them a try, you might be just as happy as I have been with them. I learned about them when americas test kitchen did reviews and test of kitchen sponges.
I use vinagar or dish soap to clean mine every day i keep a little spray bottle of vinager and let it sit a few minutes rise clean or i boil them like u said
To sanitize sponges daily, I use a product called SpongeBath (available on Amazon or on the SpongeBath website). Once a week, you dilute a small amount of their sanitizing solution in water inside their proprietary sponge holder, and you keep the sponge in it all week. The sponge disinfects in 10 minutes. I really like mine - no more smelly sponges. Plus I do not have a dishwasher, so I can’t do that method. And you can buy the solution in bulk, like a year’s supply.
I am not a professional, but what I do with my sponges when I finish the kitchen at night is pour boiling water over it, squeeze it very well and then spray bleach over it. I did not know you can put them on the dishwasher...Im not sure if the type I use will melt!. Cheers!!!
I use those yellow soft microfiber towels to clean with the Lysol disinfectant spray and then rinse it frequently . I use a different one for the bathroom . This ok ?
Thank you! What cleaners do you use for the counter tops (say granite)? Do you use a bleach and water solution for the bathroom counters and/or toilets?
Avoid using harsh or acidic things like vinegar, lemon juice, or ammonia-based cleaners, and use a pH-neutral cleaner specifically designed for granite or natural stone so the granite isn't damaged. In this video I review a granite cleaner you might be interested in: ua-cam.com/video/slCMXx4RBHc/v-deo.html You can also use a handheld steamer if you have one. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching. 🙂
Hi Angela,What type of mop will I use for indoor and outdoor jobs? And also,Are harsh chemicals like bleach necessary for mopping outdoor or indoors?I have a pet dog and I don't know if I should use floor cleaner or bleach.I have a twist mop and a spin mop at home. What is the best for mopping outdoor jobs?
Great question, Dean! For indoor jobs, you can use either a twist mop or a spin mop depending on your preference. Twist mops are great for smaller areas and are easy to use. Spin mops, on the other hand, are ideal for larger areas as they can hold more water and cover more surface area in a shorter amount of time. You can use a mild floor cleaner or even just plain water to mop indoors, not bleach. If you have a pet dog, make sure to choose a cleaner that is pet-friendly and avoid using anything with strong fragrances or chemicals that could be harmful to your pet. For outdoor jobs, you can use a sturdy mop with a long handle that is designed for heavy-duty cleaning. A deck brush or power washer may also be useful for tougher outdoor cleaning jobs.
As a professional Airbnb cleaner, I can't afford to use sponges that scratch my Turno clients' appliances. Scotch-Brite is a good and affordable brand, the perfect cost-benefit, great video!
Does one use these sponges to clean toilets? If so, do you have to keep straight which sponges a toilet sponge, or does sanitizing the sponge and hot water take care of any concerns? One reason I don't use sponges more is that I'm unsure how to keep certain sponges separate from something that might end up being used for our dishes.
Great question. No, we don't use sponges on toilets. We use paper towels and then toss them in the trash. For other bathroom areas we do use the non-scratch scrub sponge (inside the sink, tub, showers etc.)
Yes, absolutely. I've never had one scratch anything in the 20 or so years I've been using them. Let me know if you like them and what you use them for. I'm eager to hear your results.
Hey Judy, great to see you here again. You can put the sponges in with a regular load of dishes in the dishwasher and leave it in for the entire cycle. Think of it like this, you wash your dishes with the sponge - or you wash the sponge with your dishes. They can go in together. When you empty the dishwasher, put the sponge back in the holder and it will dry the way it always does. 👍
That’s a great sponge too. Here is a video on my top ten sponges: ua-cam.com/video/oFaLMNfmm6k/v-deo.html Check it out and let me know what you think of the sponges. 👍
Thanks for pointing that out! You're absolutely right, the blue sponges aren't abrasive. I should have clarified that I meant the scrubby side is more effective at cleaning tough spots compared to the sponge side. I'll be more precise with my wording in the future. Appreciate your feedback!
That kitchen island you demonstrated on is bigger than my whole kitchen. Can’t imagine having a kitchen that big.
Same here 😂
Thank you! I love this kitchen island and am so grateful for it. 😊
And some of us are quite thankful to NOT have all that counter space! Good thing not all houses are the same
