I've been riding the 27.5 2020 AL Jeffsy for the last 3 months. An absolute joy of a bike,feels modern, solid and ploughs through everything. You get a lot of bike for the money and the the blue version is striking.
I've been riding Jeffsy 2018 27 AL (very similar spec) for 2nd season now and couldn't recommend enough. This bike can do EVERYTHING. I did tons of bike park riding, some serious welsh singletracks and even took it to Chatel last year. The only thing you have to change for DH are brakes. THIS BIKE HAS NO COMPETITION ON THE MARKET THANK YOU YT GOD BLESS YOU ALL
Being someone who's only just starting to get into mountain bikes and has almost no money, it's still crazy to me that $2300 is considered "affordable"
@@JJ_MTB_15 I'm here with my 2019 Marlin 4 that was about $600 after I got what I needed for commuting to work and college. Spent 3 months saving for it at minimum wage. Solid bike for sure, but that's closer to what I'd call "affordable". If I had tons of money, I still would call a bike at the Trek Full Stache 8 range to be the absolute limit in terms of how much anyone would spend and I still think it's super unreasonable. At these prices, the only upgrading that anyone should the need to do is regular maintenance

Y'all should do more of these reviews on budget friendly bikes throughout the year. Seemed like previously you did 90% bikes I can't get without a 2nd mortgage, and then 1 value bike group for the field test. Now I like to see the fancy pricey shit I can't afford as much as the next guy, but these reviews of 1-3k bikes are really useful for your average trail bum. Good video though, appreciate it.
Nice to see that a manufacturer can put good quality parts on a bike ( raceface bars, DT Swiss wheels) and still hit a relatively affordable price. This is ALOT of bike for the money I think!
You need to include the IBIS ripmo AF. Pinkbike previously gave it a great review for the money. Well how does it compare to all these bikes at the same price. Hey Luis! I've had an Ibis Ripmo AF for about 3 months and I love it. Nothing I can complain about, I believe you are getting better suspension components with the Ripmo as well. Plus its Metal AF lol
I have '19 Pro Race Jeffsy 29. was waiting on this review for comparison of my experiences with my bike - riding wise. MK2 Jeffsy (2019 onwards) is most definitely not lively XC bike, like MK1 was. it's a hardcore AM bike, at least. I also have MK1 Capra Pro Race, great great enduro bike, as we all know - and I'd go as far to say that Jeffsy has no problem being an enduro bike. have you seen the new Jeffsy frame - it's THICK! thicker than MK1 Capra, that's for sure. I also put -2° angleset, and raised front to 160mm, and it transformed the Jeffsy into full enduro bike. love that bike
@@2plus2equalsLOL I'm a really big fan of YT and it'd have to be really really super discount to even consider anything else. though, I'd love to try exotic side of MTB, the likes of Nicolai and Pole. 66° would be enough, for sure, but with 64° (I think it's even less than that now) it's showing its true colors - which is downhill prowess. seat angle, and angleset capability were top selling points, for me. it rides with no problem whatsoever. composed going up, pummeling going down.
Nice part about that DT Swiss hub, can easily swap it out for XD or Microspline when you decide to ditch the SX. I would probably upgrade it to either GX or SLX depending on which one I could get cheaper.

Yeah my freinds got sx on there's it's not great I'm in uk and got whyte s150s that has slx and it's great take it over sx and nx. And the good thing about my s150 I can swap the wheels from 29 to 27.5 and don't have mess with suspension great bike
@@Macca78 Haven't seen the SX, but I have one bike with NX and one with SLX and I wouldn't say there's a big diff. Once you tune both derailleurs they are quite comparable, and the NX lever feels a little lighter even after a season of riding.
@@abhishekjmadan yeah to be fair the nx isn't that bad but when they brought sx I new they start putting it on bikes worth 2500 my freinds are changing there's alot of people have got sram eagle in there head got to have that there nothing wrong with shimano. But alot of companies have gone to cheap with the cranks and gearing have a look at the price difference between nx and sx they shouldn't of made a cheaper one a 2500 grand bike with the bottom of the well crank not good and check the weight of the sx cassette for a good laugh

Why don't manufacturers put water bottle mounts on the top of the top tube? Plenty of space there, I don't think you'll bump into it, and its seems like the easiest place to grab a bottle from while riding. Is there any reason not to put a mount there?
Quite weird seing SX-groupset on these direct consumer brands. For 2.3k$ it shouldn't be there. If you want to upgrade the drivetrain, you need new rear hub. Not sure if YT's design is that super unique that you would want it over Spectral, which offers much better options.
Great Review but why do they insist on calling it a trail bike when YT brands it as more of an all-mountain enduro leaning bike? I feel like it doesn't exactly fit with some of the models they compared it to.

Why do modern mountain bikes not include a decent set of aluminum flat pedals or even basic plastic ones? Most people might swap them out but most bikes even come with a basic pair of grips although most people might swap those out as well.

The jeffsy is not a trail it’s a trail/enduro and now check it out so t mid range no more now it is high spec with fox for 2800

@@deets29mtb53 YT made clear that 29ers are stiffer on purpose - all-dayer capability and all that, while 27.5 are their 'race' versions.

Love the bike but why in the hell did they run the cables through the front of the headtube!!! Damn . Carbon ran them on the sides.

If you want to upgrade the casette, you are kinda stuck with 11-tooth cog. Both newer Shimano and Sram casettes use newer hub.

I've ridden both 27.5 and 29 in medium and large and I'm 5.9. I'd go large 27.5 and medium 29. My medium 29 is arriving soon!

Great point. The 19’s shipped with e13 TRS plus cassette/hub which I actually like. The SX groupset cant run on an XD hub can it?

You don't need a new freehub. Plenty of good options using the standard HG freehub.
