Thank you, looks like a great product, with the right aluminum and stainless materials. Also, thanks for explaining and demonstrating in depth about the installation process.
@@upTOPOverland Let me know when you do, should be similar. The roof is the only piece of sheet metal that is the same on the HD and 1500. I'd like one on my 3500
The dynamic (moving) weight capacity of your roof rack far exceeds the specifications set forth by Chevy & GMC. Please follow manufacturer recommendations for the safe roof load capacity for your vehicle. upTOP recommends keeping evenly distributed cargo loads of 175 pounds. Static (parked) weight restrictions are limited to 550 pounds.
No offense but I’d be pissed if I knew you where throwing tools and parts around on my paint like that. Pretty simple to put some protection down. Also, treating those holes you drilled with corrosion inhibitor would go a long way. Or just paint touch up the inside edges of the holes. Just saying man.
What’s the load rating for this rack in the gmc Sierra in the video?
Can it house a roof top tent…..130-180LBS?
How is the wind noise with this rack?
You had me right up to the point of drilling holes in the roof. Not good.
How else did you think it’d be attached?
Nice job bud!

You bet!
Can you install a sunshade on this roofrack?
Will the roof rack work on a 2023 Silverado 1500 ZR2 6.2L
Any idea if the rails interfere with the antenna or having spotty satellite service?
What thickness is the roof spine you riveted to the truck? Are those cross bars aluminum or steel? Thank you
18:47 that ratcheting hand tool looks glorious…can I get a lead on that please? 🙏😅

I have a 2019 silverado but its a gen3 body style not a gen4, will this fit my truck?
It will not but we have a fitment coming!
Would this fit or know any roof racks like this that would fit a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500
We do not currently offer one for the 2016 Sierra, sorry.

Can you tell me what the distance is from the top of the rack to the top of the ridge on the roof of the truck?
This rack is a about 2.5" taller than the roof line!
is there a reason you went with plain rivets instead of rivnuts to anchor it to the roof?
There is not enough clearance inside for a rivnut to properly bite. the spine system also makes alignment easier!
Would the sun roof still be functional?
Yes!
Do you know of any roof rack like this that would fit a 2016 GMC SIERRA 1500
Not at this time, sorry.
Is this only for the crew cab?
We currently only have a fitment for the trucks the have the full 4 door cabs!
Happen to know what the height of the rack is from the top of the roof?
We have multiple heights for the TRUSS legs, checkout out below
