No way on earth were his arms 21 inch. I thought they looked around 18 1/2 and it was nearly confirmed in his contest measurements on record as 18.5 inches. 21 inch was a marketing ploy for the gullible.

I purchased a really nice York Olympic Barbell from Big Leroy Colbert in the Health Food and Lifting Equipment Store he used to own in New York City's East Side. He was just the nicest Guy. Very humble, and had a good sense of humor. It was almost closing time and no one else was in the store. We chated for about a half hour. I never forgot how brotherly he was, and of course I got a good look at his famous "Guns". HUGE, and perfectly shaped! God Rest Leroy's Soul.
Judging from how he looked at 15...I'd say it's possible he had one of the myostatin deficiency genes. The similar genes that Flex Wheeler has. Another point is that even to his 80's and 90's...Leroy could flex his bicep and he still had a muscle belly in his bicep at 85 years old and still trained his arms. It was like he trained his arms so much that it changed his actual DNA from training so much volume with his arms.
Wasn't natural they all used testosterone already in the 1940s / 50s, plenty of evidences been out there for years but people chose to close their eyes and ears cuz they like to cling to the hope that musculature like this can be achieved naturally, it can't im sorry to break it to you, even today with all the supps around and knowledge on diet & training you still gotta take synthetic hormones to attain this type of musculature with this level of swoleness, you can see his water retention its clear as day, unlike the bronze era who were true naturals, ripped but depleted.

Well, steroids and great genetics pretty much did the trick as is the case with ALL successful/famous bodybuilders. I really wish you would snap out of your nostalgia and tell it like it really was even back then.
no he woukd rather believe looking like a bodybuilder is achievqble natty. and pigs can fly.
Cope
🤓
No way on earth were his arms 21 inch. I thought they looked around 18 1/2 and it was nearly confirmed in his contest measurements on record as 18.5 inches. 21 inch was a marketing ploy for the gullible.
Leroy also didn't get the 21" arms until after his motorcycle accident. He couldn't train legs anymore so he only did upper body exercises. 💪🏾
So the secret is to skip leg day 😂
I heard he also took steroids for his injuries from the accident. So it makes sense that he grew them afterwards.
@@jawsfederation Where did you hear, read, or see that information from ?. Leroy had his accident in 1955. So he was only training his upper body from that year and afterwards.
His physique at 12 is crazy.
It really showcased his genetic potential. That's the one thing that struck me about him...how insanely developed he was at just 12. He was born to be a bodybuilder
My God it was incredible
Yes Like an adult at 12
I agree
So peds at 12! 🤦♂️
So he followed the Arnold Schwarzenegger school of taking steroids at 13 years of age!??
Pretty much. You certainly dont get the amount of mass he displayed at his best naturally, i say he started either at 13 or some point not long afterwards. People forget you dont make infinite linear progress, newbie gains last maybe 3 years then everything slows down drastically, and this guy ended up with a physique rivaling Schwarzenegger's and a whole host of other legends while the others had to take steroids, i mean you gotta laugh. 🤦♂😂😂😂😂
@@persianfire6139 😂😂😂💉💉💉
Ive seen even more heavy Transformations(Not the Arms of course but Overall) in jail and i know this Guys have not takin steroids because they we're my cellmates(and all the Money went into Heroin anyway) ... It was absolutely amazing. They didnt even Drink Protein. That Made me realize all that we being told about eating and Training IS bullshit. I mean we d get about 80 Grams of Protein a Day @@persianfire6139
That's quite the pet hypothesis you guys have got going, there....
@@Magneticlaw facts!
This guy is not natural!
The photo of Leroy at 12 years old is as telling as it is astonishing. Gifted beyond measure. Please note the absolute supernatural quality, size and development of those fore arms. Major player in the Arms Race! Great work.
No other channel can you get workout routines from Leroy Colbert, Larry Scott, Chuck Sipes, Dave Draper ( all my favorite 4 of all time) then this channel. Best old-school iron pumping channel on UA-cam!
Thank you...more coming soon, on all the greats
Knowing how big human arms can get, naturally, I am super motivated to get 21 inch arms. I might never get arms that big. But I will never stop working for them. RIP, Leroy. Your legacy will live on for generations.
You will get there ! In 1980 I achieved a 20 3/4 inch arm and I really didn't know what I was doing. This channel has so much info on arms you will surpass 21 inch !
@@johnkelley6278 Thanks for the confidence boost.
Very motivating for sure! You got this 💪
u will never achieve that naturally under 15 % bf in 10 life times.
@@shred9475 yeah i'm surprised how many are just taking at face value that leroy is natural just because he says he is? like do they believe everyone is natural just because they say it?
He looked like a young Victor Richards.
@@megabazus1775 Where did I ever say or claim he was natty? I was just making the observation that even into his 80's he still had development in his arms. I never argued that he was natty. Nope I never said it or mentioned it. Not a single time. Do I bepieve he was on test? Yeah I think so but the guy was on HRT at 80 because his arms were still so big.
So take your stupid little comment that has nothing to do with my comment and leave and take your stupid "natty or not" bs out of here so we can have an actual discussion about a Legend who is no longer with us.
@@jjnich4915 You were alluding to it. And you getting mad over it is proof enough.
@@megabazus1775 I was alluding to nothing. Just making the statement that he may have had a gene mutation...until you twisted my comment into something that it isn't to suit your needs or your agenda or whatever you are tryinng to spread and then you say I am the asshole for getting mad. Really? I am the asshole when I wasn't even talking about anything relevant to what you replied with.
I get mad because it seems like you just wanted to have your opinion heard. If you are so passionate about it why don't you go make a video to explain why all these bodybuilders aren't natty? Be my guest I could not give a cent of my time to it because honestly I don't care if they are natty or not I admire their physique regardless and I will always strive to look like them whether I am natty or not?
Did I say that in a way you could comprehend?
i suspect he was murdered he suddenly died in my opinion was very shady
Look at that vacuum! I followed him on his UA-cam channel until his passing. It felt like losing a friend.
Most definitely natural. I'm 53yrs old 6 ft 2 210 lbs 18 inch arms. All natural love it.
Thiers a massive difference between 18 and 21 inch arms naturally.. 70% of body builders with insain diet and workout regimen.. ON GEAR don't have 21's.. I built 19s naturally by 28 at 218lbs.. thier was no way I could of built 21s.
Genetics could play a part in this as well
First thing to remember is this: If your genetics are freaky it doesn't matter which arm exercises you do, you will get huge. If your genetics are poor you could do the same workout as Leroy and never, ever look anything like Leroy. I saw hundreds of people training over many years managing a gym and its what I saw. Steroids take it another step but you cannot mimic the amazing shape of freaky genetics.
The original Mike O'Tren
How often did he do these workouts? Didn't he train every 48 hours full body for these arm workouts or were these once every week to specialized?
Looked like a grown man at 12
Muito legal Leitorávido (Bookworm) vc juntar vídeos seus executando os exercícios!
Thanks for the demonstations, Carlos! Great video.
So he did roughly 90 sets of arm work a week? How do you recover from that?
