What an interesting and long day at HpH. Early in the morning I drove to Kutná Hora in Czech Republic to pick up the HpH 304 ES for the E2Glide competition. Jaroslav surprised Uli Schwenk and me with a test flight of the new Twin Shark and after the dinner we were invited to have a look at his impressive factory. We left the factory at 11 pm, still 250 km to drive to Großrückerswalde. I´m so grateful to have experienced all this. Thank you!
We might have some of the greatest soaring conditions in the western USA. But in Germany you have at least 3 glider factories, you can also find glider factories in surrounding countries, glider clubs just about everywhere, the Alps and Beer is cheap. Great video.
Thank you for taking us along to visit HpH factory! Before your first video on HpH I had never heard of them, it seems like a strong contender to the German firms.
I would have like to see the engineering department. Who design these machines. Is there a wind tunnel ? There must be a research and development department. To remain competitive a sailplane manufacturer has to constantly improve its products. It would be interesting if you made a video about that Stefan. Thanks for posting. Your videos are always great.
I'm gonna take the show now. Thank you Stefan for this video, and thank you Jaroslav and HpH for UTVA Čavka . Greetings from Serbia homeland of UTVA ;-)
Hello mr.Jakub ,this is my e-mail address paklenivuk@gmail.com . As I know only 4 or 5 Utva Čavka's are saved . Two of them are in Belgrade Aviation museum (one on display, and other in depo of museum ) ,one is in Slovenia ,and one more in Greece. Can you send me on e-mail more info about this one in your possession? And how can I help you ? I will do my best to find you measures ,and to link you to people that can actually help you to restaurate this magnificent bird . Is it still registered with YU signs ?
I wonder if I could buy a bare fuselage as seen at the 5:00 mark, from the wing roots forward for a non-air project I’m doing. With a canopy would be great. It doesn’t need to be air worthy.
Great video! really enjoyed seeing the HpH factory. Same construction methods we used fabricating experimental aircraft. I can guess what mfgr your next glider will be 😄
Hi Stéphan, thanks to share this very intetesting part of your passion (as a former mecanic, it's nice to discover the life in this Factory). One thing I 'd llike to know is if you notice differences in noise level in flight inside thé cockpit, did you fly with a very Silent model ?
G, day Stefan from Sydney, Australia. * what an amazing manufacturing process of the glider aircraft. * I believed that gliders were without energy generation for flight? * great channel love your filming, thank-you. 🌏🇭🇲
What a very interisting video! It's not a question of winter not flying, it's a question of lockdown. I choose thé jet engine for myself even if it's forbiden in France. What's not?
ich könnte mich in solchen Hallen häuslich einrichten........interessant und schön das du diesen Beitrag gemacht hast. Danke Stefan PS: Gibt es ein Filmchen vom Testflug?
Very interesting. I wonder if it's possible to make the fuselage in one piece instead of two sides. With a device the spools fiber on the inside of the thin tail, that way you avoid the bonding of the two sides and sanding and the potential weakness in the seam. If you can make it in one piece it has the potential to be much faster and less costly. A pressurized glider with a small turbofan engine built to go 700km/h at 20km altitude would be very interesting. Cheap, super fast and fuel efficient. A private jet cheaper than a car to drive.
@@randomguyinanglider you mean perlan mission 2. I see no evidence of any significant speed, it was about high altitude but even if it somehow did, it would be extremely narrow and useless conditions. obviously. come on, dude. you can't do unpowered flight with any freedom.
It really depends where you life. In Germany you can make your training in a club and get your license in 1 - 2 years. It will cost you about 1000 - 2000 € in total.
Indeed. But as far as I can tell there was a way to get them flying again. I know some that are flying after going through whatever process it was to rejuvenate the wings.
@@tinchote Yes they opened one in the US. But for example, Like mine, some L-13s don't have some part of the log books. That's what's preventing some of the L-13s from flying. I wish I could get the club's going but there is a section of the log books missing
my club has 2 l-13s, they had their main spars strenghtened and, the wing inspected for cracks. Then the design life goes up to 3500hours if you fly aerobatics and to 5000 without aerobatics

Love all this technology
Jaroslav & crew produce a great glider, and the attention to detail is second to none.
Stefan, your enthusiasm is contagious!!!
Love the 'Hobby room' with those beautifuilly varnished vintage sailplanes, such friendly folk too, more like this please.

Wonderful to see the older models still being looked after along with how far the new ones have come! The evolution of flight still going strong!

Thank You so much for share Stefan! Have a nice day!!!
Thank you!!!
Big thanks . I really enjoyed watching everything you filmed in the factory . Hopefully you will make more . Keep it up
A pure joy to watch as well. Easy to see you were like a kid in a lolly shop.
Thanks for the GREAT TOUR!! Please say thank you to Jaroslav for letting us see his factory...when I have the money I'll get a Self-Launch Shark.
Thank you! Yes, Jaroslav ist the best :)
Great factory tour!!!! Thanks for going that.
Very interesting place - thank you, Stefan! HpH gliders are not so often visible in our sky, but this fabric and people make very positive impression.
Lovely.
Great video! Nice to see the behind the scenes on how sailplanes are created--

Pure joy indeed.
I wonder how the radar cross section of these gliders compares to a like sized all metal aircraft with similar flight profile?
Thank you!
Pleas can you show what are the things to make a simple glider in home.
Hey Stefan _ dich lange nicht so schön strahlend gesehen _ wunderschöner Beitrag aus einer tollen Firma!!

Jaroslav is such a nice guy and he has build an impressive factory. But he should upgrade the shark with new wings.
Good video.
Does anyone know roughly how much each glider costs?
thx... great video - love it
I didn't realize they were this big.
I was also impressed by the size of the company!
Anyone who know about self launch gliders. Who work the system for the propeller stay in the right position to be retracted?

Hello, can someone give me the name of a two-seats self-launching glider with full aerobatics capacities ? Thanks all. Best.
I don’t think there is a “full aerobatic” capacity glider, like the Unlimited Class, but the ASK-21Mi is a Self Launching Aerobatic Trainer :)
Cool
nice
❤
Can somebody please explain how do I become a glider pilot with zero flying experience.. including costs of training???
Which country do you live in?
It really depends where you life. In Germany you can make your training in a club and get your license in 1 - 2 years. It will cost you about 1000 - 2000 € in total.
how much its price
