I was so lucky to catch Elton John live in Memphis last year before this COVID craziness. Even though I was excited to see him, I was expecting a safe, ho-hum concert being the fact he was 72 at the time. Boy was I wrong, Sir Elton put on one HELL of a concert and his band rocked the house big time as well, which floored me because they are just as old as Elton.
His movie Rocketman really bared his soul. Even though it wasn't "realistic", there was truth to all of it. Truth that was missing in other recent biopics about famous rockstars.
Howard Stern is an above average, excellent interviewer. I am a life long fan of EJ and thought this interview was great. Elton admitting the wearing of the costumes were in some part because he was a "show off." I bought the Jewel Box and there are probably hours of stories to get out of EJ. EJ is a talker and Howard knows how to get it out. When will the entire video interview be available. This was a joy to listen.
Elton played a concert solo for 2 1/2 hours straight without any breaks. He drank pop the whole time. My only question is how did he do that without taking a pee break?? Remarkable I say ole Chap.
So was Howard's announcement on todays show purposely cut out? I was listening and just when he was about to announced it cut out and went to commercial.
