The current state of fortnite is just all about colabs and "bringing" back old maps to boost player rate yet they forgot about the charm of the game and storyline that made fortnite so much more memorable
People that use “nostalgia” as the core reason are just using it as a cope. If an older game is just better or an older aspect of a game is better, then that’s what. Now I’m not saying nostalgia doesn’t play a factor of course it does. But it’s not the core reason why it’s loved, it’s loved because of how good is genuinely was. And how the OG season performed vs how Chapter 2 remix at least to me shows this. It’ll never be truly the same as it was back then even with chapter 1 coming back because there are aspects of it that just can’t come back, for example building was still in its early stages, when building a 1 by 1 was the closest thing to being “sweaty. But the game has gone too far from what it was. Now it’s the “collab game with a bunch of mythics” instead of the “cartoony battle royal”.

Ironically the blinded by nostalgia argument applied better to chapter 2 than it did to anyone else and it was chapter 2 fans that always used it the most
I thinking gaming as a whole has completely changed the average player is like 10 times more skilled than the average played was back in 2018, its all because of the lockdowns where the only thing anyone could do for like 2 years was play video games
og fortnite times were much better and the gameplay was much simpler also the shop wasnt flooded with collab skins like every day lol, they hardly did collabs and that made them so much cooler
I believe Fortnite was at it peak in the last half of chapter 2 and almost all of chapter 3. However style and art direction, I think Chapter 4 was their best so far. Personally i enjoyed Chapter 4 gameplay the most.

@@BenSquaredd nah i played ezfn (which is og fortnite revived) and i gotta day i had tons more fun playing that than the new seasons. i like the simpler mechanics and cartoony style which is gone in modern fortnite. i do like the current season tho
Never played the old game. Started after the black hole, but i find it quite fond of it. It seems great and if im being honest, last year og was more nostalgic to me than chapter 2 ngl. Ik it wasnt the same, but still tho.

Yes it is. Fortnite brought OG back and it showed why it was way better. It was simple, cartoony, true to its roots, no skillful player imbalance.
