    They need greens available to them everyday not every 3 days and unless you're breeding or they grew up together in pairs of two male and female bearded dragons should never be kept together due to them being territorial and will fight expecially females.

    I have a question and hopefully someone replies to me because I need a answer.
    Ok so I have a bearded dragon and I've pretty much had it since it was a baby. She's about 4-5 months old (I'm guessing). And ever since I've bought her from PetSmart she's had this sorta big black spot on her back. It doesn't bother her and I've haven't noticed any erratic behavior from her. Any one have a guess on what it is?

    Hi, I have a male bearded dragon. Eastern Bearded Dragon which is 7 months old now. I would like to introduce him with a mate in the terrarium. Do you think is a good idea. Some says no some says depends on gender or temperament or age. Seeing your bearded dragons together in the same enclosure makes me wonder how? (He used to be in the same enclosure with his mates together before I purchase him in a reptile shop)

    I've just purchased 2 dragons myself(not from here),I was told they are both male,but the bigger 1 bobs his head at the other 1 and his beard goes jet black!, they are said to be the same age ,1 yr, but the big male is nearly twice the size of the other!.Is it possible I have male and female?,I've looked at the smaller dragons bump under the tail,and it only has 1 ,which would indicate it is a female,if I'm correct!, The bigger male always pounces on the smaller 1 after doing the head bob thing!.So, will I need to split them up if it carries on?,and is this something to be concerned about?, some feed back would be greatly appreciated. This is my first time keeping dragons,I would hate for anything to happen to them,only got them a couple of days ago though, but I love them already!.

      DdoubleE Aka D though I know it’s been a few months, you should never house dragons together, no matter what. It will result domination, possible loss of limbs and even death.

      Nope, females and males are the exact same. Males may be more territorial, but not towards you, to other beardies. I have 5 beardies, 2 females and 3 males, and they're all docile:)

  • @fl6stringer

    I've read recently that dark greens and veggies are much preferred over insects in their adult stage because of too much protein and the excess fat (yes, in the insects) can give them fatty liver disease. Apparently this is more common than previously believed. Also, more than a little bit of fruit is believed to be bad as there is an abundance of phosphorous (bad) and very little calcium (also bad). So, my take is..... good beardie food, dark greens, OCCASIONAL snacks outside of main diet yet still in the safe (though not staple) zone.... and a yummy bug buffett once a month. Sound good? Does to me! I'm open for input! Peace

    • @LLLReptile1
      @LLLReptile1  9 років тому

      As adults you definitely feed more greens. However, they still need some protein and will still need insects in the diet. Splitting up dubias, crickets and veggies is a good idea

    • @thedriftmc
      @thedriftmc 9 років тому +1

      fl6stringer Exactly. The consensus is 20% greens, 80% meat at baby stage which switches to 80% greens and 20% meat at adult stage.

      The only time my beardie(who I've had since he was a baby and he's now 3 years old) has bitten me is when he mistook my finger for food. I usually have no trouble hand feeding him, but my nails happened to be painted a darker color at the time which must've looked like a bunch of bugs to him lol. Since then I either don't paint my nails or paint them a neutral/light color and haven't had any problems lol

      +Omri Jaacov You can as long as you have fluorescent UVB lights during the day as well (a must). But, your daytime temps should be higher than at night. You'll have to check your cage and basking temps. I would recommend two different heat bulbs, but in theory, you could get away with the 1.

      Bearded dragons are coldblooded. They like warmth. The temperature of a human usually is between 35 & 37°c which is ideal for bearded dragons.

    I adopted a bearded dragon named jojo. He is always pissy and wont really let me get near him. His owner before me didnt hold him much because she worked so much. I'm trying to get him to like me. But it's hard. Anyone know of anything I could do to get him to be more friendly

      Hanna Nixon it’ll honestly just take time. Try handling him a little bit each day and make sure he feels safe in his tank. Just be gentle and sweet to him and after a little it should be okay :)

      @@mollymctigue9159 thank you! Have been doing those things for a while and he is now alot more trusting and friendly. He still has his rough agressive days. But things are getting better
