- In this episode, we traveled to Tellico Lake to purchase a 2008 Champion 198 bass boat. I’ve been waiting for this day for a very long, long time! I definitely got an awesome deal on the boat. The Mercury outboard only has 300 hours of running time and the iPilot Minn Kota 112 lb. thrust trolling motor was just recently installed. What a great buy! Thanks Harbortowne Marine! Enjoy!

I recently bought my first ‘fiberglass’ bass boat a Ranger 185VS that Champion is a fine looking boat and the white looks great, Champions have great hulls too. Tight lines!

@@HooksetHawk I got a Garmin Echomap Ultra 106sv and a UHD 93sv. One for the front and one for the console. Will either keep or chunk the 5" Lowrance built in the console.
@@DLTJR1959 , sounds great! I always sell my old graphs on eBay for decent money. Maybe that's something you can do with the Lowrance unit. :)

I found my 210 in Illinois and had it shipped to California. It’s a big boat. Handles likes a boss!
Dang! I imagine that cost a pretty penny to ship to California! But, hey, it's worth it for a Champion boat! Lol :) Nothing rides like a Champion!
@@HooksetHawk The 210 is my 3Rd Champion. Never seen any of the Elite series here personally anywhere. Mine is the deep blue anniversary edition Elite, really gets a lot of attention at the docks.
@@MrMynameisozzy , I bet it does! What brand & size motor do you have on the 210? My Dad ran Champions back in the 1980's & 90's. My brother and Uncle also run Champions! It's in our blood! Lol 😂
@@HooksetHawk The previous owner had it powered with a 250 Evinrude ETec that was properly maintained. It’s really smooth, reliable, quite, always starts on 1 turn of key every time. A lot of people put the BRP products down. Any outboard that’s gonna be subject to continuous high strains is gonna give out period especially more prone if one does tournament fishing.
Blasting for hours on hours at maximum Rpm’s is just brutal on any outboard engine.

Champions are the best! I love my 198! I've had to do a lot of work but it's been worth it. I finally got new electronics installed and currently working on a list of stuff that needs attention but nothing major. I'm completely happy with my Champion! She rocks!! 👍😎 Thanks for watching!!
Charger now makes Champion Boats but they are badged as Charger Boats. They make the Elite 198 and Elite 210 and have the rights to make all the hulls if they choose.
Yep, that's right! Im glad I bought this one when I had the opportunity. The boat is a 2008 so it was built just a few years before Champion went belly up. And, with just 300 hours on the motor it was a no-brainer!! Lol :)

That's cool! My Dad used to own an early 1990's Champion 187 and that boat was fast for the size. Unfortunately, my 198 is NOT for sale! lol Of course, being a Champion owner I'm sure you understand why. lol Thanks for watching! :)
