Appears to be a good one. User interface seems good. However the hardware side is not suitable for many. Phone needs to be highly drop resistant, rubberised for grip, and the charging doc needs to be better designed for the less dextrous user. Placing it in like that is not ideal, better if it’s self guided into position as you place it in. Basically needs side guides and higher front guide on the doc.
the first picture of this phone is not true.... i added one contact.. tried to add more.... the emergency 911 option was great but my mom kept touching it and calling for help.... the emergency 911 button was as big as her one contact name and i couldn't move it or make it smaller... called the company for help and they told me it had to be there for legal reasons.... (great idea really) so much so the EMT's knew her name as they kept having to show up at her house.... if your dementia user is too far gone, do not purchase.... they will not figure it out... plus the touch screen is a complete mystery to people in their 70's plus.... good luck to all.
Raz Mobility app fails repeatedly on phone from Alzstore. Requires app updates and phone updates that are out of sync. If your loved one isn't an IT professional, do not purchase this misadvertised product. The Alzstore reply to this is unacceptable. "Donate it". ??? what?. I'd like my $400 back. They refuse. 30days is past. This is not a solution for folks with Alzheimer's disease. Do you really think my parents can work with a person over the phone to update/uprade every couple weeks. If they could do that, I wouldn't have purchased this phone. Very misleading as a solution that is still in it's infant stages. This phone app idea is a great concept, but it's not there yet. Very disappointed with the Alzheimer's Store
The person's family must make changes/updates to the phone. It is not expected the person with dementia would do those things! I don't work for this company, but I am buying one of their phones for my dad. When it arrives I will program everything for him and he will simply use it. That is the intention of the phone.
That is the intention, however if the app based user interface is not stable then it may not provide the required use. If that’s the case and the company don’t stand by their product then be prepared to be out of pocket with your money. I hope it works for you.
The volume of calls not loud enough for many elderly. How to turn up call volume. I have the caregiver portal all the way to 100% and call volume tough to hear for someone with hearing loss.
Design-wise the one thing I'd change is how it charges. Dementia seniors won't remember that dock, they might not remember the charge cord. There needs to be an option where the celphone is locked to a long spiral cord that charges in for power. So the senior can't disconnect the power supply, and will think the spiral cord looks "phone normal".
Yeah right. My dad would be pressing the emergency 911 button when he had to use the bathroom. No go, too accessible. He would also forget to hang up. Sigh....
This phone does not support text messaging. However, through the caregiver portal, you could send a reminder directly to the memory phone. This will function almost like a one-way text message.
I think we’re missing the point of such a phone. It’s basically a landline, call in and out and nothing more. The advantage of having a picture of your son or daughter is the ability to call them quickly without confusion or answer quickly when they call. Bluetooth and camera and apps all lead to confusion for some elderly people. This is the option I’m looking for to get my 96 yr old mother in law a phone. She just calls and nothing else.
@russellstewart5414 but what about when they are out and about? I'm considering this bc I'm flying my father to my brother's house soon. I want to be able to call him.

My mom will want this in her pocket. I'm worried about size and accidental calling.
The size is admittedly on the larger side; however, I will say that accidental calling wasn't an issue in my tests.

My dad has trouble plugging in the charging cable and his phone doesn't do wireless charging.I'd 100% buy that kind of charger for him.

Thank you Ryan for this complete review. It definitely helped in my decision process for purchasing a "phone for Mom".
Any time! Gad to help!
One question.. if Mom only has 3 contacts would the home screen change??
@@lisamarie526 The home screen would just show 3 contacts. This size of the contact thumbnails would remain the same.
Thank you Ryan!!😊

That's a great suggestion - you should mention it to the manufacturer. Hopefully they will offer that option.

Great presenter!
Thanks for the helpful info!
Is it possible to buy and use this special mobile phone in Europe?
Will the phone automatically hang up after a certain amount of time? My dad would forget to having up.
it does not have blue tooth either. charging can be an issue if person has arthritis very bad.
Thanks for the video!
Bought this for someone. I can not get this phone to charge.
Are you using the USB-C port or the touch charging dock? Either way, I'd recommend contacting RAZ directly. This shouldn't be an issue. -Ryan M
Can you have more than one secondary user ?
Ryan? Great question. I wondered that also.
Can I disable the 911 button?
Yes you can
Do you sell these in England
Is there bluetooth on this for a car?
No, there is not.
Can you use it just on wifi?
No, you need to purchase a cellular plan from a network like Mint or T-Mobile for it to work.
Can I send a text message to my dad?
This phone does not support text messaging. However, through the caregiver portal, you could send a reminder directly to the memory phone. This will function almost like a one-way text message.
setting this phone up has been a TERRIBLE MYSTERY and is NOT set up friendly!!!!
And while I paid FULL price I definitely did NOT receive a nice dock to recharge the phone.
I would not recommend this company. Customer service is horrible

Do not buy this product. Does not work as advertised. poor product

Considering purchase, why bad review?
