Though jumping rope got me into fitness, I've since moved to running as my main form of fitness-either in barefoot-style huarache sandals or actually barefoot. The two activities, jumping rope and running, really go hand in hand. Jump roping is probably the best means of developing good form and endurance for running longer distances. It's nice to see the proof in this pudding in the form of Mayweather's training!

@@Gregperkinsyo My favorite barefoot running surface is smooth concrete, such as sidewalks. I like to run in the city barefoot, but there's too much of a risk of stepping in broken glass, loose nails, and the like. But running barefoot is incredible because it forces you to run with good light and quick form - with a good mid-foot (or whole foot) landing over your pelvis (not out in front of you). Modern running shoes allow you to pound your heels into the ground, which sends shock forces up your shins, knees, hips, back, and even your neck. Running barefoot, however, doesn't allow you to do that because you feel what's "wrong" immediately and you can adjust on the fly because it becomes a trip to the podiatrist, etc.. But START SLOW! I’m a big fan of Floyd, trust me Floyd don’t run as fast as people thinks he does, this might even sound silly but he don’t even know himself, I saw a video one time over the last year with him on the treadmill and he points at it and says “Look 2 miles in 12 minutes” I screen shotted it to look at his treadmill settings because I wanted to eventually mimic it but when I looked at the treadmill screen it was actually 2 kilometres not miles, so he was actually running at a 9 minute a mile pace. When you watch his running videos he is usually going at a slow zone 2 cruising pace but he just does a lot of miles which explains why he runs so much because he’s not going at burn out paces
