Sounds nice, but he abused his mayoral office and behaved very arrogantly up until he was put in prison. Had he not abused his office, he probably could have ran for governor if not president. I'm saying this as a man born and raised up off of Linwood btw.

He thought he was always the smartest guy in the room. What a waste of talent but it's a challenge for certain talented individuals to remain humble and always operate by the rules. Even now, he's still a bit in denial.

Sounds like someone doesn't understand politics. Damn near every successful candidate is arrogant, so why is it a problem when he does it? Kwame's mistake was challenging the power structure in place at the time. That led to him being neutralized

@@datdudefitz8684 Arrogant enough to be convicted of mail wire fraud. That's a paper trail that can't be disputed. We already know the authorities and FEDS are salivating at the chance of locking up Black Men. Why give them an easy path doing backroom deals & having direct ties with independent contractors that were given preferential treatment. I'm a low level city employee and I can't use my influence as an employee to enable an independent contractor to get a city contract. Him admitting that he admired the independent contractor because he admired his work is alarming. It's unfair , illegal and biased to the other contractors. He is letting you know right there he made up his mind to award him the contract even before all the companies bid on the contracting job. Add that with the wire fraud where Authorities could clearly see a paper trail where he's transferring money illegally. That's the arrogance I am referring to. He thhought he was wise enough to where was charming everyone while he was leaving a trail for the Feds.

@@datdudefitz8684 His mistake was perjury, not "challenging power!" We as Black folk have to stop making excuses for corruption and depravity among our ranks. That's not Black excellence. If he wasn't smashing his chief of staff and having Detroit Police covering for him that were being paid by tax[payers, the whole lying under oath issue woudn't have taken place. That was the beginning of his downfall. Also, Kwame was not challenging power. He was making deals with Penske and other corporate elite. Sounds like you don't understand politics, sir.

@@rotweilerscholar1181 Yes, he still hasn't taken accountability for his own perjury and misteps. That's part of his arrogance.
