I agree with everything there mate. Variety is the key. A varied diet give them a great source of nutrition and stops them getting food monotony. I do the same with all my fish. Another great video 👍🏻
the most standard veg you can feed the shrimp i`ve found is boiled cucumber it can stay in the tank a long time as long as you monitor it and the shrimp will only leave the skin from the slice when they`re finished
I breed loads of Caridina and I find Snowflake Shrimp food is a must. Its made from Soybean husks. High in protein and does not foul the water at all, and the shrimp come back to it for days. And also works great as a Holiday food. I also feed boiled Baby spinach once a week. Very good for Shell development in Juveniles. Other than that I use Ebi Dama, HWA high end Shrimp food. As well as Mulberry leaves / Cattapa leaves as you mentioned I keep things very varied.
Thanks for another great video and your emails, since following your your tips my neo's are breeding like rabbits. Zucchini and algue wafers work great for me but I'll duck down the road to get some blood worms tomorrow. Thanks for all your help :)
Brilliant thanks for this video! I've been keeping fish all my life but freshwater shrimps are a new one for me, I've been feeding them with vitalis shrimp pellets but the shrimps don't seem very impressed with them! I feed my main aquarium with the tetra crisps so I'll try my shrimps with them 😉🦐👍
I really like the flakes because they're easy to crush into tiny pieces and will then get stuck in the java moss where the baby shrimp can feed on them. For general feeding I also switch between 4 or 5 different types.
I was overrun by bladder snails, no problems with Malaysian, Rams or Magics. I used some cheap eBay snail traps and cleaned out hundreds in a few days with alga wafers as bait, the remainders get squished against the glass and become food. Beast of luck 😀👍
@@davexstuntman i have managed to reduce the population to a dozen or so, however, 2 snails can very quickly become 100 again which is super annoying. The issue I have is, selling plants, I don't want to sell plants with pest snails.
Hiya, great information video, I have watched loads of yours and found them very interesting. When I batch up frozen food for fish I use a pop up fidget toy, just the right amount and easy to get out.
The links you posted look like a site in the US. Do you have a UK base site? Also, I’ve heard you mention your eBay store. How do I find that? Love the videos. Got a free tank with all the kit in it a week ago. Got a load of stuff coming from Amazon tomorrow to start cycling it. 🙂
Hi. Unfortunately we no longer sell shrimp as we decided to replace our breeding tubs with glass aquariums and focus on UA-cam instead. Would love to hear how your new tank goes 👍🏻
@FishKeepingAnswers, no problem. Thanks for getting back to me. I'll check out my local pet shop and keep watching your videos for all the great advice and tips
I think if you have fish and shrimp together, it's worth putting some flake and sinking food together. The fish will usually go after the flake and let most of the sinking food go to bottom feeders and shrimp.
neocaridina doesnt have like patterns unlike caridina shrimps that have patterns such as well weird dots or like white then red then white agn@@hshhhhaha
Whenever i have a dead guppy i feed that to my shrimp tank. Also some beef heart leftovers from my Discus food and bits of salmon before i cook it for myself. Its been a less than 2 months and 12 shrimp went to 10 and became about 30 (from what i can count. The new generation is still tiny and colorless)
This can be a problem. Due to the cost, it's sold less often than other foods, meaning retailers are reluctant to sell it. My advice is just go for it, you won't regret it, and a tub lasts for ages.
I finally got my first baby shrimp!
🥳🥳🥳
@FishKeepingAnswers my tank wasn't made for breeding, so I only have a hob filter, I'm now hoping they don't get sucked up 😬😅

They love bloodworm. Thanks for taking the time to comment 👍🏻
Thank you so much for making these kinds of videos they help people like me alot we appreciate it
You are so welcome. Glad you are finding them helpful
Great Video ,Great info on feeding.
I kinda like how bug bites float & sink as it distracts the guys surfing the top while the guys at the bottom get some too.
Awesome video thanks, cheers 🎉

I am a massive fan of Tetra Crisps. Your shrimp will love them
@@FishKeepingAnswers thanks again, I tried the tetra crisps just before lights out last night and this morning all gone! Brilliant!!! 😉🦐👍

Another great video. BTW you’re not the same as MD but your videos are just as informative and enjoyable. Thanks
Thank you 🙏🏻
Tetra products are so underrated. Vitamins + proteins 👌🏾
I use them for guppies and my Discus fish
Maybe i should try it on my shrimp as well
I have to say, I feed a lot of Tetra foods. Tetra Prima granules are also very good 👍🏻
Theres so many free foods out there for shrimp.
You mean outside? What do you offer them? I like to feed fresh food
@bieuw5304 Nettles, mint, dandelion leaves. Boil them a bit then good to go. I collect fallen leaves in autumn and add them to the tank.
Thank you for the vid Richard. Can we have a video about pest snail? Any solid methods of getting rid of them?

Thanks for this. I really needed it. Do you know anything about Bacter AE?
I haven’t ever used it. Sorry 😞
@@FishKeepingAnswers okay, thank you
Do you sell your shrimp? Also, I've been watching your channel for a few days now, and it's fantastic
Thank you. No, I no longer sell shrimp. Sorry

“Smells like death”, that’s hysterical 😂

Spirulina or dried warms also i plants java grass for them
Great video Richard

Its called bee pollen because the pollen is collected by bees and caught in a pollen trap at the hive entrance.
Huh! Every day is a school day. Thank you
Do you have copepods in your tank? Is that a good source of protein in yourself opinion?
Agreed 👍 with you
Do other shrimp types like blue shrimp, yellow shrimp, ghost shrimp, emerald shrimp, etc function the same as red cherry shrimp?
If they are Neocaridina shrimp, then yes. That would include reds, yellows, oranges, greens, blues etc 👍🏻
@@FishKeepingAnswers How do I identify if a shrimp is neocaridina or not?
neocaridina doesnt have like patterns unlike caridina shrimps that have patterns such as well weird dots or like white then red then white agn@@hshhhhaha
These are great

I add bee pollen to my Rephasy food so it stays together
Great idea. Thank you 🙏🏻
What you suggest how many shrimps buy for start breeding because i buy 12 shrimps in 4 4 4 in 3 colours but still they're not breeding yet
I would suggest starting with 10 to 15 of any one color 👍🏻
How can i give almond leaf 's to shrimps... Do i have to boil it
I mean the dry almond leaf
Personally, I never boil them. I just float them in the tank. After a couple of days they will sink 😎
Thanks for ur information ❤
Hi, how often do you feed shrimp blood worms?
Anywhere from once to four times a week 👍🏻
@@FishKeepingAnswers I was given advice to put cuttelfish bone in the tank for added calcium, what do you think of that?
where would be best to get cherry shrimp in uk? online?
Sadly I do not have a good source. I tend to just use eBay 👍🏻
In the wild, Neocaridina Shrimp would feast on dead fish 😉
If a guppy dies in your tank do you just leave it where it is or shove it down into the sand... 🤔
*Crap Game* 🎉
I love flake ❤🎉🎉🎉
🥳
have you got the link to your ebay page please
Hi. Unfortunately we stopped selling on eBay in favour of making UA-cam videos 👍🏻
I cant seem to find any vendor for repashy (europe, germany, Belgium, Netherlands,...) Except for insane expensive import
This can be a problem. Due to the cost, it's sold less often than other foods, meaning retailers are reluctant to sell it. My advice is just go for it, you won't regret it, and a tub lasts for ages.
Could i feed them a worm from outside? 😂 boil it a second? Must be protein rich
Depends on the size of the worm. I would be inclined not to, but that’s just me 😉
Soylent green. 😂
repashy community plus out of stock everywhere
Go for a different blend. They are much of a muchness!
I would like to ask you to tell me the reason for the hunching of the backs of a few-week-old shrimp babies
Do they hunch briefly or for long periods of time?
@@FishKeepingAnswers for long period
