every time I have experienced oneitis has been due to the fact I didn’t resolve my own issues before entering such a relationship. If you have abandonment issues, self conscious issues, attention seeking behaviours like needing the validation from women or you’re not at a point you can confidently speak to any woman regardless of her looks and intentions then you will suffer from oneitis in any relationship you enter. You must always value yourself more and allow yourself to be appreciated and respected according to how you want to be treated. A little later she meets a long time bachelor guy and "falls in love" and says our marriage is over and wants a divorce. Everyone I know says she is being selfish and a fool. Two teenage kids devastated, wealth cut in half, and life in turmoil. She is/was the love of my life, it's tough, but I have to pick myself up and get on with life.

I think about my first woman almost every day, and that was over with 40 years ago. :-) I loved her so much.
