Like the op said, he may have never won a belt, but you don’t fight the greatest of all time in 3 different weight classes by being an average fighter.
He should've been WEC middleweight champ. Paulo came in overweight and Chael still wupped him, because of the weight, the title wasn't on the line.. Paulo gave him the belt anyway than WEC merged with the UFC

He's basically a chubby light heavyweight, or even middleweight. Rampage and Sonnen both fought multiple fighters that are bigger than Fedor. So it's not just the fact he's a heavyweight. Fedor his extremely hard regardless of weight class. Pound for pound one of the hardest punches in MMA history.

Fedors speed has always impressed me. His ability to throw from his stance without a wind up or telegraphing is just a thing of beauty
Psh. My jump shot from beyond the arc is a thing of beauty .. his wind up is good .
His precision and stamina is the biggest factor. You can, with proper training, throw punches with your whole body without any wind up like him with similar speed and power but its incredibly taxing. I'm gassed after throwing a few punches like that and can't for the love of god hit the intended spot. He would throw them for fifteen minutes right on your chin and temple. Fucking insane.

My personal top 5 greatest mixed martial artists in no particular order: Fedor, GSP, Mighty Mouse, Jones, Silva. Chael took on three of those guys in sanctioned fights and grappled with one other in practice. Crazy.
