Here's a question I'd like journalists to ask fighters who have fought for both Bellator and UFC: Do the gloves really make a difference? I've heard the Bellator gloves have some design feature that makes it harder to do inadvertent eye pokes and also protects fighters' hands much better.

If people had there fists closed it wouldn't happen, why are fighters pawing towards an opponents face with an open hand. If you want to paw at someones face do it with a closed fist, it's called a jab. I know it's nothing to do with your glove comment but it riles me, I love Jon Jones but he's one of the worst for it. Anyone that does the open hand thing knows there's a very good chance they're going to poke someone. To your comment about the gloves, the gloves shouldn't matter. They shouldn't have to have different type gloves, punish open hand eye pokes more severely and people will stop.

I like Sonnen, he is good for sport. Also, unlike other fighters or other times he played it out very smart and fought his fight. He didn't underestimate Silva. Chael knew where he is at his best and smartly played that card.
MMA fighters more often than not fail in smarts department. Look at Ronda! I consider her fight with Miesha Tate as a best UFC fight I every saw. Amazing skill on both of them. And now Ronda goes 3 times in row to stand against punchers and 3 times she wasn't smart enough and got beat up badly. Few minutes more of patience and then throw to the ground would serve her to victory for sure.
