- Giving the ford back it's character.
This is the coolest paint job ever, you don't worry about how to apply the paint, keeping the area clean, and sanding forever. You paint over it all to give more texture and you can do each step at your own pace. Best part it's cheap too!
Big thank you to Kevin Tetz for orginially making a video on faux-tina for Trucks! Here is the link that started it for me-

I love watching women paint! 2 whole coats of black paint on that much square footage, and she ain't got a drop on herself!!! I'd look like I was wearing black gloves!
Cant wait to do this to my motorcycle
Post up pics when your done!
Working an an early f1 but music is for the "putting a wing on my 240sx" crowd.
We work on a lot of different things.
Best patina job i have seen
Thank you James!

Cool,COOL,,,,COOOLLLLLL!!!
Do you guys accept customer vehicles 😬?
No. Not at this time.
Great video. Awesome look 👌
Great tutorial 👌
Amazing truck 🚚
I am going to be doing a similar job with my 1961 Chevy Apache.
I think that it would be fun. And I love the look 😍Learning how you do this was very informative and I will reference this tutorial again a few times.
4 Sure. 💯🔥👍
Thank you. Post pics of when you do your apache. We would love to see it
How did your 61 come out ?
@@johnswicord3110 I did not do the patina thing. I did a flat white flat clearcoat.
I ❤️ it. Lots of compliments and thumbs up 👍
I hadnt heard Faux-tina when i had to touch up the rear fenders on Edna. I just called it my graffiti paint job lol
That's awesome!
You need a higher resolution camera so we see exactly what you're doing...
Great looking truck!! We have a few patina videos on our channel with our 50 F1 Edna
Thanks! We will have to check it out! Thanks for watching ours.
Отлично проделаная работа, подручными средствами, тоже хочу применить Ваш способ на своей машине.
Great! Let us know how it turns out. Thanks for watching
If you wanted to just get the black through paint. Would you skip the brown?
Yes, you would probably want to do multiple layers of the black to have different texture.
What colors did you mix for the blue? And how much of each?
I used blue and yellow and white. 2 parts blue, 1 part yellow, 4 parts white.
How many quarts of each color did you go through to paint the whole truck?
4 quarts of black, less than 1 yellow, 2 orange, 1 blue
What turquoise was used?
Custom mixture. The amounts were said in the video.
Good job you guys..add a clear to that and I think it will be beautiful..or just wax it .
Thank you. Watch the blending patina video for the clear. It's so beautiful.
Great tutorial. Are you going to use a satin clear coat to preserve the patina?
Gloss clear coat to make it shine....😁
Hi. I have a 58 Chevy Apache. I ordered all new fenders and doors. Could I paint primer on the new fenders or would I need to do sanding ? I also doing the patina look
New fenders usually come with a black ready to paint primer so you could you could just start with the black paint layer
What kind of paint was the black paint??
All same brand-Duplicolor paint shop. You can get it at any auto part store.
Looks good! just need to let the surface rust for a more authentic look. Take a look at my caddy video..
I think there was more black under your eyes than on the truck !
Ok.
Nice job!!! I will try on my bug, can I ask all of your colors are single stage color, correct?
Yes
Would love to see it on a bug! Post up let us know how it goes
I thought that was a small model pick up
Lol. Yep
Hugger orange or burnt orange?
Hugger
I like what your doing but that's almost as much work as painting smooth and shiny.
The sanding is hard but it's way easier then painting with paint booth and spray gun. You can paint it in sections whenever you want because there's no prep. The front got all dusty in between coats and the great thing is you paint over the dust. I did the back fender in just 2 hours but other sections I did another day.
Copied Trucks classix episode. Faux Tina came out good.
Yep that's where I saw it! His did too! Thanks
@@kellercustomsgarage8289 I did the same thing to a rebuilt totaled 2006 Silverado. Since it was made of different colors body panels from other trucks I decided to give it the same patina paint job but I added hammered metal finish between coats. I also use a real 66 Chevrolet color. Came out awesome

Cover the tire! wtf.
Haha...not keeping those tires.
Sorry but it looks just like it is. Rubbed back paint. Not patina at all.
Thanks for watching
Agrediu...torturou a camionete.
Lamentável.
Coisa de amadores.
Awesome technique, horrible music
Lol. Thanks for watching!
Sorry but fake patina is NEVER cool. Someday people will learn this.
Thanks for watching. To each their own.
@@kellercustomsgarage8289 I am an artist so I do love the art. I just do not like it on vehicles.
And that lonely opinion is all yours. The rest of us love it!
Not the rest! I don't like it on actual cars either! People get carried away and the wear patterns are never realistic!
Cool method on models but never makes a realistic finish on real cars.
It's not meant to be realistic it's meant to bring character to something that didn't have any. Thanks for watching!
