Just remember if the last digit is 2 or 3 change it with 8 and 7 respectively and the remaining 1,4,5,6,9 remain the same cancel 3 last digits with last last no you get

The cube of 21 is 9261 but after adding 9+2+6+1 it becomes 18 but the cube of 18 is 5832, hence your rule is wrong.
