  • Is the Abarth 595 a good car, is it fast and reliable, what’s the handling like in an Abarth and is it fun to drive? What are the common problems? Should you buy a manual or automatic Abarth? Welcome to my Abarth 595 Owner’s Review, we road test the Abarth 595 Turismo which has 165bhp and is the middle spec car before the range-topping 180bhp Abarth 595 Competizione. How does it compare..? There are also Abarth 500 and 695 Biposto Trofeo and Tributo available which all offer different specs, power, seats, suspension, etc. and the prices can vary massively depending if you’re buying an older Abarth 500 or a newer 2018, 2019 or 2020 595 model.
    So which is the better gearbox in the 2016 Abarth 595 - a manual or semi-automatic, ours is the auto with paddles on the steering wheel, and I have mixed feelings on it to be honest. We’ve owned this Abarth for quite a while so have learnt all there is to living with Abarth 595 and this is our full road test and review.

    The 'auto' is pretty good in manual mode. My only gripe, as was yours, was the changing down to first when second was better- I worked around it my realising that as long as I was going about 20kph it'd stay in 2nd OR manually changing to first before it did! I've had tow MTA's ( Turismo and Comp) now on a Comp manual- love them!

    I have the same colour, just the cabriolet. I replaced the pig skin seat leather with different leather. I really share your sentiment on most things your shared. Really honest feedback. Thanks

    I installed the seat lowering kit. Paid 70€ for it and driving position is much better now.

    does the robotized manual gearbox get any pops while shifting?

    • @al-s
      @al-s  3 роки тому

      Not really, it does have a slight crackle on overrun but nothing like the OTT pops and bangs maps heard on modern VWs, etc. If you upgrade the exhaust you'll get more noticeable snap crackle pop for sure.
