@@doncolaku4032 not necessarily it can increase head pressure, the maxspect is a stream flow pump, terrible head pressure, the only way to get anywhere near there claimed lph is to have zero resistance/restrictions on connection and tubing etc.
Very very bad, broke within a month, different pressures on each side cause it to wear out really fast and now it vibrates very loudly, had to remove it. Controller issues also, maxspect doesn't last long, my skimmer has the same pump and seized up from a single grain of sand in the impeller shaft ... Beware of maxspect electrics bad bad quality bad design. Also had troubles with gyre xf350, only able to run at 100% otherwise will turn off... Really hate maxspect regret buying, beware
I have been running the 12k version as my return pump for a few years now. It’s been great!

Terrible pump, they are a stream pump, it struggles to put out actual flow rates through nozzles and certain diameter tubing.
Any return pump would be restricted with “certain” tubing
