I have the 1st gen (which has an attached cable that terminates to a 6.3)....I've heard the bass is more detailed but not as forward vs Gen 2.....I basically use them EXCLUSIVELY for classical symphonic tracks on my Feliks Audio Espressivo mk2. I def don't use them for anything with voices. That's quite a specific niche but given how much I listen to that particular genre it makes it worth it.

One thing to note, my beyer t1.2 that I had bought two years ago, has had its headband pleather deteriorate badly. I rarely used it, and whenever I do, I would use it for only a week, then go back to my trusty hd6xx. My supplier quoted me for about $85 replacement for the headband , which is not that expensive, but still annoying. Overall its a really good, robust and comfortable headphone that is quite picky with the songs you wanna play.

Using mine with Geshelli JNOG DAC + Singxer SA-1 with Dekoni choice suedes. I can't wait to eventually get some tubes and try it with the T1's.

Once we tackle the tube amplifier category I will bring them back in because they sounded like they would sing with it

What are your thoughts on the beyerdynamic t5p 2nd gen? Which do you prefer compared to the bowers and wilkins p9?

Unfortunately, I did not get an opportunity to have a listen to those, so it’s very difficult to judge, especially against P9
But if I take BD headphones into consideration as a rule, including the flagships, tuning and performance as a rule, the P9 when driven properly and with good synergy is absolutely exceptional
I think the BD headphones are though hard to drive, are easier to handle

So after 1 year have you heard them with tube amp? I am interested in them just because my dynamics are glorious with tubes, even low impedance Focal Clear sounds amazing. Heard great opinions about T1 v2 paired with Feliks audio echo mk2 I have Elise model. Not mention that I never heard 600 Ohm headphones and I always wanted to :)

I think it’s been two years mate, LOL, bloody hell where we have come from, yes I did and the8 80 to it definitely helps smoothing it out and it sounds pretty decent, but these days there are much much much better on the market to be honest with you 109 pro comes to mind better looking more comfortable far better headphones

@@ConvinceMeAudio nah 109 got nothing to offer for me, besides it is twice the price of T1 v2, looks like its not worth to pay attention for lower tier headphones, gonna make money and aim for Atrium or Caldera to avoid disappointment

Beyer would've been a good headphone brand if the treble wasn't that hideous, which is a shame, they're sturdy as hell.
