Interesting informative video. I recently inherited my late father-in-laws 1983 944 5spd, non-turbo. It sat for a very long time. Before driving it home 180 miles, I had a great Porsche repair shop in San Luis Obispo do important services (timing & balance belts, water pump, alternator and more), but now it drives like new. Now that I have it home, the problem has been finding a shop that works on 944’s instead of only 911’s.
That's great! They are fantastic cars. Get them while the price is still relatively low. Thank you for subscribing, there is so much more great stuff coming.
Yes, a wiring diagram tutorial would be really nice. Also, wondering if you have interest in free parts new or used that I have acquired over the years. In acquiring my new parts inventory, I accidentally purchased the same parts twice(oops!) and I would just as soon as give them to your channel then sell them on e-bay. Also I have a lot of used parts from my engine that I don’t need after going through an engine build in which I replaced 90% of the engine components with new oem parts! Your process of dismantling the car is exactly what I am doing now to prep the body for the body shop, so I am following along by practice! Looking forward to seeing how to drop the rear suspension to remove the torque tube!
Hi Jeffery, absolutely yes I'm interested in parts. I will pay shipping if you like. You can contact me at europeanautocraft@gmail.com for address and more information. Thank you so much for thinking of us. Russ.
I started to go into withdrawal when I didn't see an episode on early Saturday, Thankfully I did not panic and this was an AWESOME episode worth the wait!!
Ive built a few of these cars. I made a pallet with wheels so I could push the body around the workshop without the wheels and suspension. Just a regular shipping pallet with 6 wheels.
Great job so far! One question - I noticed that the floor pan has a fairly significant portion on the passenger side that has rusted away. Will you be cutting and welding in new steel for that as part of the restoration? An observation on the torque tube - since it is out, it would be an excellent time to add in the Black Sea Super Bearings.
Hi Jeff, we are debating weather to just put a whole floor in, or just the right side. There are benefits to either. I will be looking into replacing the bearings in the torque tube, as well as making any component better with quality parts.
A wiring diagram tutorial would be awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you could have added just one more explanation point, I would have known that you were serious. But................................................................................................................
I'm just wondering, instead of pulling off each component one by one, why you not just drop the whole suspension and powertrain as one assembly. Easy, since you have a lift. If by any chance, can you show the starter wire harness, and clamping stations on the back of the bell housing, I'm doing a 1987 944 turbo, resto mod. Forgot how the factory routed the harness. Great channel!
I was looking for a close up of the actual starter wiring harness, on how it is mounted along the bell housing and clamp locations. Not on how to read the wiring diagram. Thanks'. and keep posting.
@@daniely1338 Hi Daniel, there is a clamp on top of thr bell housing near one of the ground clusters. And one on the side I think above the slave cylinder. I'll get back to you with better information. Russ.
I appreciate the input there, I was thinking of finding something, but the license free music just sounds cheesey. I have a plan for the future if things go well, using local music talent for a little segment music. I'm still working on the planning of something big. Not sure if we can get the funding to build it. Always moving forward.....

Please do the wiring diagrams. Sounds very interesting. Love this channel. Thanks
Thank you for commenting, we are going to basically do a electrical system teardown and detail the central electrical panel. Should be fun.
Thank you for doing these videos! Informative, motivating and well done. And yes, the wiring information seems like a great idea for us DIYers.
We are happy you are enjoying them. The wiring diagram parts will be fun. I will show you all about the electrical system in the 944. Should be fun!

Yes, I should be wearing better safety glasses, next scene - takes off glasses! 🤣
How can I help you with the sound? Audio interference and a bad connection somewhere.
Unfortunately we're stuck using a junk 90 degree low profile USB-C to 3.5mm adapter which is causing the issues. It is
