Nice video. I like this better than bending the track.

It would be nice to do a zoom in shot of how ur garage setup is so we could compare it to ours to see if we could do the same procedure

Thanks! I've watched four other videos, each with their own take on this work. Yours is the best overall--very helpful!

My curved track on top is riveted to the straight track that I need to remove. It looks like it can’t be detached unless I unscrew the curved track, which has the wire attached to it.

Thx! Probably the easiest video I’ve seen yet as I’ve probably watched the same as you

Other comments coming from certain garage door pros claim that removing the vertical track is dangerous because the cable is still under tension and wants to pull the bottom panel out with no side brace and could ruin the whole door. Yours appears to not move even with no side rail. Without actually trying it myself, I don't know what to believe. What say you?

You're removing the brackets from the wood, correct? Isn't there a structural concern with re-drilling the brackets into the same exact places in the wood where they were previously?

Not in the slightest. The screws are thick, and wide thread. And you aren't "re-drilling". You're just putting the screw back into the same hole you removed it from. They went in perfect, and tight. Not to mention, it's a vertical piece. It's not weight bearing like a horizontal one would be.
