Tbh sometimes those companies would completely go out of business if they weren’t stripped down and everyone would lose their jobs because management ran the companies so poorly. Yes corporate Raiders do things purely for profit, however they sometimes do a service to the companies they take over.
Ye I agree with you fully. I believe I said in my video that there are good and bad people within every field. Many times, like you said, corporate raiders clean up bad companies and rid them of poor management which is beneficial for all stakeholders. However, we also have those Gordon gekko types who are cold blooded and in it for the quick buck no matter who it hurts. There’s good and bad. I just felt it was more fun to cover the bad side since it’s more interesting, But ye ur right 100%
Gr8 Vid Bro. Just watched Wall Street and WallStreet 2. Totally Relatable. Keep making vids like this. If possible, Make Videos of Corporate Raiders such as Carl Icahn or other business people such as Bill Ackman, Ashish Dhawan etc...
I appreciate the support🙏🏽, and will do, I definitely want to continue making more videos on the field of finance especially the more darker sides of high finance
You didn't talk about the key point, of using an asset style finance to acquire the company and load it up with debt, strip it and put your flag in what is left?
Interesting. Imma look more into that. Ive heard of asset stripping which I talked about in the video, but I never came across the idea of loading a company up with debt and then stripping it. Thanks for the feedback, I’m going to research more into that👍🏽
@@favvytalks I believe the idea is to borrow money against the company as a secured load even though you don't already own it. This is why Geko has to agree to payback 85% in the first year by selling planes and hangers in the movie.
This is why capitalism is a double edge sword and why deregulation of everything isn't as glorious as its made out to be. There is nothing wrong with becoming wealthy because you invented something great, or did something that simplifies things making you a profit. But I consider the tactics described in this video as shady and dirty money. Its basically nothing more than a legal heist off of people who are trying to make an honest living by working hard and learning. I strongly consider corporate raiders as nothing more than a bully with a big stick. They bring nothing to the table and just take all they can and give nothing back. This is the reason people aren't loyal to companies anymore. There is always some jackass in an empty suit looking for a way to steal from you and get rid of you.... I firmly believe corporate raiders belong in prison. It takes someone who is or is nearly a sociopath to do anything like this and sleep at night.
Lets cut the shit. No such thing as making a "honest living" as if u are honest all the time...we gotta have ppl like this in the world and we gotta have ppl like u also. Its balanced good and evil. This world is at most complex and for sure not perfect its tough but oh well
Jake Tran dilutes his explanations with appeals to mainstream opinions. He doesn't give an expert/insider look, just confirms the suspicions of average joe's by telling them "big company bad" over & over for free views.
Thank you so much! Great video
