I can’t fault the presentation of your vids Mati. You’ve definitely moved on a bit since your first but keep it the way it is; simple info and a bit humour from an ordinary bloke that loves his cars. BTW, About the seized bolts on the Audi. I saw a can of WD40, yeah? Swap it for Plus Gas. It’s way better.... And it’s also good for lubing your drill bit when you do the hole for the bee sting aerial.😎
I'm in the same situation as you with the A3. It is a commuter car, and various reasons keep me from the tuning/mapping path. I have been focusing on handling instead. I just ordered RS3 solid rear lower front control arm bushings to help make the front steer more direct (not received yet), and added a rear sway bar (H&R 24mm). I know you tend to focus more on the appearance of the car, but it would be interesting to see some suspension/handling modifications, too. That is something you can always appreciate on the commute. In the future, i'm considering lighter aluminum front control arms (from a passat B6), the dogbone insert for more positive shifting feel. Eventually some shock/strut improvements, but I need to keep the comfort for long distance commuting. I'm also curious about the head unit upgrade. I just ordered a bluetooth module so i can at least stream from my phone, but that seems like a band-aid fix for now. Just another path of modification and upgrades to think about. You did inspire me to order the rear wiper delete, also...
Love the videos mate. I've got myself a mk2f polo aswell, just looking for bits like induction kits and exhausts and just some little add ons. Where do you find all the bits for your polo? Websites and links would be appreciated. Cheers mate
Hello Mati. Good to meet you at the club polo stand at VWNW. If you remember mine was a fellow steel blue coupe. Great to see my car's twin is doing well.
+schneil I certainly do remember mate! You ended up costing me an arm and a leg that day, went straight home and tried to track down some scirocco seats to buy 😂
Great vid and really interesting to get such a down to earth chat from a reasonably new UA-camr. Congratulations on such rapid growth in the past year, but it's thoroughly deserved 👍🏻 since you've been sticking to such a structured upload schedule. I'm at 300 subs on my other channel after 6 months, and struggle to keep focused on filming/editing/uploading regularly, it's not easy! 🙈 Ur vids are great, easy to watch and informative, keep it up, and wishing u & ur channel all the best for its growth over the next 12 months 🔥📈👍🏻
+Kevin Matthews thanks for commenting and getting involved 👍🏼 yeah I can definitely say its not easy working two jobs then trying to do this aswell but got to keep plodding on! Thanks for the kind words, best of luck with your channel too!
I've always loved cars, but never been in a position to have a nice one and after saving for what seems ages, finally managed to get an a3 2.0 tdi sport. I am so happy with it, words fail me. I feel a little sad yours is "just a daily" for you, but your modifications are inspiring. I have enjoyed watching your videos so much, they motivate me to fix the issues that will happen to my 10 yr+ car, not just take to a garage. My next 2 mods are to buy a card/coin holder and install it where the 3 blank button spaces are (where your card slot is) and replace the ashtray with a large flat tray for storage. I am also toying with a difficult decision...whether to upgrade to 18" sportline wheels, or stick to 17's. Any advice from the comments?
Good on you mate, goes to show hard work pays off! Mine is ‘just a daily’ because it was a cheap car and high mileage, it wasn’t particularly nice when I bought it and needed a fair amount of work doing to bring it to where it is now!
Be really interested in the auto light retrofit for the audi mate, want to do the same to mine but seen that i'd need to possibly change the windscreen for the sensor put me off. Keep it up!
Just seen your reply mate. Can it be done without the windscreen/rear view mirror replacement? As far as I’m aware the light sensor is the same. Was thinking if there was a way to have an aftermarket light sensor wired in and just sticking out the corner of the dash. What you thinking to do mate?
Hi Mati I have a question about a dashcam hardwire kit etc. I have three leads ; 1) Black is the colour ground I will use the same bolt found securing the dash. 2) Red is the colour marked as ACC which I take to be accessory, fused 15a 3) Yellow is the colour marked B+ 2103 fused 15a 🤔🤔🤔 > Whereabouts on the interior fuse panel should I locate these What I am trying to achieve is as follows, when the car is running the dash cam works as normal. ( I have front & rear) When I am away from the car and it is bumped or knocked etc. it records the event. I have exactly the same version as yours 8P1 2009 Finally, while I have your attention what size SD card would you recommend. Tony
I’m looking at getting a mk2f as my first car, and also have owned a mk2 gti steering wheel for the last 10 years of my 16 year life 😂. Just wondering if the wheel would bolt straight on or whether you’d need some boss adapter thingy majigy to make it fit. Cheers.
@@matimcfetridge Cheers for the reply. On Saturday I’m going down to reading to have a look at a wicked little GT that’s listed on eBay currently, will hopefully be a project to work on with my dad and a nice little head turner to take to shows. I’m local to Northants so I may see you at edition 38 (if it ever happens😂) or maybe even at Santa pod! Cheers, and I love the colour of your mk2f btw!
Have you had any issues with water in the drivers footwell? I can't find where the water is coming from, it looks like its possibly from around the centre console as the carpet is wet going up from the floor by the foot rest next to the clutch pedal
@@matimcfetridge also forgot to say...I've just swapped out my topmounts on my a3...I'd suggest a very big hammer to free up the shock from the hub you can use the halfords small rachet to spread the hub...biggest ball ache I had was the top mount nuts spinning...had to hold a socket under the arch on the no longer captive nut

Great videos mate, keep it up!
Legend, cheers Fraz 👍🏼
You've actually inspired me to get a mk2f man, needed a runabout while my Mk1 is a long way from getting sorted and I love how smart the f coupe is
Haha glad to hear it man, such an understated car! What better car can you get for sub 1k 😩
Absolute unit
Give this man more subs already, wtf!!
Legend 😂

you should install LED front and back indicator bulbs. it will really enhance the modern look of the car.
Will look into this, thanks for letting me know!

Im hoping to do it without the rain sensor to be honest, Im only really after auto lights for coming home/leaving home!

I can't wait for the Android auto and Apple car play head unit video.
Do really want to get something like that but they seem really expensive 😂

the polo will be small spline but with a big spline adapter on it usually, take that adapter off and will fit straight on!

Quick question, did you use the same wheel bolts for these wheels or did you need diferente sized one's?
Thanks, keep them Polo videos coming!!
I needed extended bolts and tapered rather than radial! Thanks for watching mate 👍🏼
Best engine swap 1.6 AFH/AVY Gti
Got one in your shed by any chance? 😂
Audi TT BAM 1.8 20vt engine swap would be epic 🤷♂️🙃
Haha imagine, death can 👀

That's on the Audi btw 👍
I haven’t to be honest mate, never had a leak on any car! Fingers crossed it stays that way 😂
You already have the car....please say you gonna re commission the beetle....
Beetle needs a dry unit to work in really! Needs cutting in two before repairs start unfortunately. One day …

wrap the audi yourself lol
Definitely on the agenda, just an expensive mistake if you mess it up 😂
@@matimcfetridge only really cuts that's are mistakes on wraps, heat gun can turn almost every stretch back to normal 🤣
