AND SO IT GOES

'And So It Goes' by Billy Joel was released in 1989, containing poignant lyrics which describe a tumultuous relationship he had been through 6 years prior. The song's deliberate pace creates a sense of intimacy and vulnerability, allowing the profound melancholy of its lyrics to shine through. And despite the emotional turbulence of his experience, the despondent refrain of 'and so it goes' suggests his acquiescence to the inevitability of circumstances, echoing with wistful feelings of resignation.
