I was thinking just that! In the very late 80s to early 90s here in the UK there was a morning tv slot called "ITV SCHOOLS FOR CHANNEL 4" which in between programes showed an ident very reminiscent of this intro
I love how they demonstrate the capabilities of their duel sound chip audio by having the pcm sound chip play samples like strings, piano, and stuff, rather than relegating it to percussion instruments, like many compositions for duel fm/pcm sound chips seem to do.
I've seen a lot of bootup screens on different consoles that usually have a nostalgic "welcome" ding or chime, or some kind of "hello" jingle, but I've never seen one with a whole song in it!! This makes me want to get a console like this! Also, this music sounds like the beginning to a really long old school JRPG that spans across three discs and has a character that breaks the fourth wall. I want to compose something like this for my own game...
My classmates: Xbox or Playstation? Me: The FM Towns Marty boi This console honestly needs more love though as it was quite a revolutionary system with it being the first ever 32 bit games console, shame it never sold well and ended up being yet another member of 5th generation video game consoles no one actually remembers.

'A wise decision, my lord' the stranger said._ " " _But little does he know that the young man three homes over, no older than 15, is about to become a slave..._ "
An impressive use of the YM2612 (FM Synthesis Sound Chip) and the RF5C68 (PCM/Sample Sound Chip, which was responsible for the sampled Strings, and Piano) 😊
Pro Tip: The FM Towns Marty was the Baby steps of the 5th Gen consoles. Although it wasn't mostly 32-bit Until The Amiga CD32 Came in. It was the first console That was ACTUALLY 32-bit. It was a consolized A1200 Computer (Since most of the games are ports), Except more powerful
Sounds like a sick opening to an educational video you watch in school.

One of the most peaceful, visually appealing and sounding start-up screens in gaming history.
Amen to that.

You genius. You absolute genius.
So thats how the iPhone Circuit ringtone were made and inspired from here?
Maybe....
This would be really nice as a screensaver. Anyone want to recreate the sphere made out of balls over stars?
That startup is very calming 😌
I was going to say "Earrape warning", but the sound quality is actually pretty clear in this video!
The earrape is gone
ah, thank god
Way better than the other video.
1st logo: a ball..
2nd logo: A short alligator
is it just me or the music sounds like something out of Bejeweled? it sounds so beautiful and relaxing
It sounds like SNES music!!
To me it sort of reminds me of the Moon music from the DuckTales game for NES.
They went in on this one 🤦🏾♂️🔥
This is one of my fav game console startups
That PCM sound chip you’re referring to is called the RF5C68, created in 1988. The sampled Strings and Piano from it were great in this! 😃👍
幾多にもある起動音の中でトップクラスに好きです。
どこかで使って欲しい。
A beautiful startup for a pretty obscure console.
I kinda like the sorta lo-fi sound it's got going on. Makes me think of the Gameboy Advance games I used to play as a kid.
never had this system in my entire life but man... it sounds so fucking peaceful
like a portal to a future everyone wants and needs

oh that's kinda looks futuristic tho
Love this opening.
this startup sequence is basically victory music for finding a gaming rarity
This sounds like Baba O'Riley by The Who.
I can tell they're both kind of similar with that Beautiful "rise and shine" vibe.
This is why I want this obscure consoles.
2019 me learned that the hard way.
There's only one thing I don't like about this and it's that the dots at the poles of the sphere change with the surrounding ring.
It sure takes a bloody while!

I find it funny that this video got more views than the amount of sales the console got back in the day.

Fujitsu Siemens
Also a computer company.
THE SCREENSAVER INTRO!
