- It was a terrifying sight: A bear with his paws up against the glass, trying to enter a home. A neighbor says the animal was on a mission after it tried climbing onto the deck and peering into the back window of a woman's house. A neighbor called police when the unwanted visitor wouldn't go away. Neighbors are hoping this guest won't be back anytime soon. I had a bear on my porch one night that crawled up to my window so that he and I were face to face and he all of the sudden smacked my window. He wasn't trying to get in, though, he was just walking across my porch and I knocked on the window to get his attention. I have bears walk on my porch just about every night. I love them. This might have scared me a little bit too. I am usually not afraid of them but, this was unusual.

Floridafanatic28... Have YOU ever seen a bear in the wild with ear tags? They're obviously put there for some kind of identification, so whether it's a forestry service or whatever, someone should have a record of that particular bear.
lmturmenne Yes, I have, many times. I grew up in bear country actually. Those tags have nothing to do with anything that was happening in this circumstance. Regardless of why it was tagged it is still a wild bear exhibiting extremely aggressive behaviour and contacting whoever tagged it won't change a thing.
