Brock has a knack for getting out of sacks. I can think of 10 plays off the top of my head that should’ve been Sacks, but he escaped and had a completion instead
FACTS!
Is that a bad thing? Most of the time those turn into big plays
@@jamesfoster2408 No. it’s a great thing. Brock’s escapability and off schedule plays are some of my favorite aspects of his game. My point is, he makes the oline seem better than what they actually are.
@@Robby43932but at the end of the day does that even matter that he makes the offensive line look better? They don’t allow a lot of sacks and we had the best offense in the league. Plus we don’t have to pay a ton of money for the offensive line and instead can pay other guys that make our team more complete.
Imagine how much better he could be with a better oline though.
With this line, how many different quarterbacks got blown up in the past 3 years?
Here's the thing. How many sacks did purdy get away from? Did it pretty get away from with just his legs only? I hear what you're saying but I strongly disagree
Perhaps they didn’t draft an O lineman in the first, second or third because the players they wanted in those rounds weren’t available..and if they had their sights set on specific players in the first two rounds, trading up (Aiyuk or Deebo) was going to be required, and there wasnt a trading partner in the right position willing to trade..why? I would say because of the contract situations for both BA and Deebo…this is going to be McKivitz second year as a starter, and he’ll show improvement..the problem for the 9ers last season was the inside pass rush from Center to RT…without a great Center, you can’t have a great O line
The O-line is terrible and overrated. When everyone talks about bad O-line its ALWAYS referring to pass-blocking because the QB is the most important position in the organization, even over the coach, and thus must be protected. Its all well and good that the Niners have good run-blocking as you mentioned, but that's not at all relevant to the problems that people are referring to. The reason for the low sacks is not because of how underrated they are but because of Brock's speed of processing and mobility, as well as Kyle's great scheming. An objective metric which demonstrated just how terrible our O-line was in pass-blocking was the fact that picking up a journeyman retread like Feliciano last season IMPROVED our line and he was one of the top 2 best of the line along with Trent Williams. How exactly does a journeyman FA that no other team was fighting to sign and who was never known for being highly rated instantly become one of the best pick-ups for an off-season acquisition for the Niners? It's because our line is TRASH in the first place.
if you think sacks is the appropriate way to judge o line pass blocking, you should maybe stop talking football
McCaffrey was playing quarterback in the NFC championship because every quarterback had season ending injuries due to the OLine
all nfl states don't matter. stats vs top 5 or 10 teams matters like kc, baltimore, cincin, cleveland, green bay, lions, lala. afc defenses are good.
34 is in huge part due too Brock, 60+ if it was Jimmy G.
Aaron Banks is overrated by many. Simply put he is the second best guard on the team behind Feliciano who is journeyman and that should tell you everything you need to know.
The Niners whole philosophy of not using high draft picks on O-lineman is crap. After a long drought at QB, we finally have one that we can depend on (and going to pay $$$), and the Niners come out and say "oh, we don't draft O-lineman high, because we can get by with lineman that can barely do the job". Whatever, I say build a wall around Brock and watch him win some SB's.
True, now they have way more weapons than they need.
please stop repeating yourself 15 times in a row, starting to sound like Cowherd
