That's pretty genius! I'd be a concerned with noise in the cab and the heat it generates but you're only ever going to be using it when you're parked in which case you can have the doors open and everyone would be out of the car. So nothing to worry about I don't think. Great idea!
Thank for info Ronny, I was thinking of putting ARB compressor in the cab but after hearing the noise, I'll find another spot. All the best and keep up the good work.
The Dead Man looks interesting, should be a lot easier than burying the spare tyre. Last May out bush prospecting I met a bloke with his dog & warned him I'd seen 1080 signs in the area. He said, no worries I'll put his bait proof muzzle on. Ran into the same bloke a couple weeks later, no dog. It managed to take a bait while wearing the bait proof muzzle.
The compressors are waterproof as long as you don't run it submerged, if you want to do that extend the breathers. ARB do a dust seal for the outlet, well worth having. Using a shifter, not good use the correct spanner and always use heatshrink on the soldering.
Yeah how dodgy is that guy.. supposed to be professional. I never use a shifter unless i have no choice but these guys have all the tools so shouldn't be risking rounding off bolts/nuts
That's better Ronny, that's a much safer place for it, But I would like to see that Air Fitting moved further back towards the extinguisher, sticking out like that it could get snapped off. I just bought the Portable Twin Version and the inflator and the Air Accessory bag to add to my Single High Output, Love ARB products. and I have a heap more ARB Gear.
It’s been outside for a year in the rain I’m sure it’ll be fine more worried about everything else in the cab like my camera gear in the event of flooding
4year old compressor still running probably indicates that where you had was a great place Ronny! Really not sure about this relocation. The heat, sure might be ok for the seat but heat is the killer of mechanical things - so you may find you have to replace the compressor sooner than later in the new posi. My two bobs.
The only ARB product i own is the twin compressor! 33's on my 76 wagon are pumped up from 22 to 36 psi in just seconds, it doesn't get the chance to get hot. I had the portable case and now have the pdp tray under the drivers seat, it's so quick you don't need the tank.
These are usually fitted in tight places like a small tool box or tight corner in a vehicle. At least here nothing is going to fall or rest on it and it doesn’t get hot enough to cause any problems anyway. Yes it does get hot to a point you can’t rest your hand on it but it doesn’t cause instant burns to your hands if that makes sense. Anyways I’ll report back after a few more 4 tyre pump ups
Hi Ronny, I checked it out online, the only marketable (online) solution for the twine ARB compressor "under seat mounting" is for a Jeep Wrangler. With so many Land Cruisers around there must be a product, a bracket, a tray, something, but I could not find anything... I have seen before some of the fellow members in my 4WD club using this compressor as a portable item, yes, compressors do the job, but got very hot even in a separate box... A while ago I had a chat with a sales guy from the nearby ARB shop, asking if they have a solution to install that dual compressor under the passenger seat. I was told actually same thing: compressor get very hot, so placing it under the seat is not good, either seat might get damaged, or compressor could be repeatedly shut down by the thermal switch. I am driving Ford Ranger PX II, 2016 making.
I’ll repost Back after airing up 8 Tyres in one hit. If that passes I’ll then do 12 Tyres and bust or confirm the myth 👍 another Wednesday video to come
hey Ronny, @ 6.13 with the fire extinguisher facing the way it is little feet can push the leaver if the pin falls out from the rear seat, leaver needs to face the front of the vehicle, something i would not know if i never had children,
hey man i hear you, i thought the same, mine is in the same place, but when your car fills with snow while driving an outback corrugated road and turn around to see you son shrugging his shoulders and you have been in the car for a week or so the kids get bored i guess, moral is, out of reach is better than snow...lol (family joke)
Ronny, are you still running a twin arb? I'm preparing to choose and install my first onboard air system on my 80 series landcruiser. I'm on the fence between ARB, Power Tank, or a York 210 motor driven compressor with storage tank. Thanks
Hey Ronny, any chance of showing your camping set up when you take the kids? A 79 series with one bloke isn't really a challenge for packing, but a wife and 2 kids is a bit harder.....
I’ll keep that in mind for next time I did actually try to film it last weekend but so hard to film with kids and dog. Anyways in short when I go camping with the kids and dog it’s a trailer that comes with me
Hey Ronny!Excuse my lack of technical knowledge but is it actually safe to fit a potentially very hot gadget such as the ARB under a cloth seat, with lack of ventilation? Oh wait, is that why the fire extinguisher is in the same place?
There is space between it and I’m not the first to have this installed. I’ll report back after a few more times of pumping all Tyres up but I don’t see that being a problem
Not a fan of compressors inside the cab. I’m a little worried about the heat especially when it’s close to carpet or seats. Not to mention every person having to leave the car at air up due to the noise.
It’s honestly not that bad unless you are in the front passenger seat. The seat absorbs a lot of the noise. I’ll do a video on it and give it a go with 8-12 Tyres in a roe
I didn't mention anything about compressors mounted in the engine bay but if you are asking, compressors in the engine bay are a safer option since there are no flammable seats or carpet in there.
move tyre to a rack put a cage where the tyre goes probably not a great idea to put co2 fire near a hot air compressor probably better of using a shop compressor with a proper air gauge
might not be a practical solution in a weight scale those small things get got to the touch would you risk putting a fire hazard.. in your vehicle.. something with a air tank would be more suitable and something with an air gauge off the hand tells you the pressure of your tyres when you inflate or deflate your tyres on the go.. sometimes skimping on things can lead to bigger issues down the track especially if it fails in the middle of nowhere where you are 500-1,000 klicks from the nearest town or city.. touch wood you never have the 12/24 vdc pump fail
Thanks Ronny! We're looking forward to what you have to say about the Deadman Earth Anchor!
Really looking forward to putting it in the sand 👍
would love one of these guys, where can we buy one?

Really looking forward to seeing the Dead Man Anchor in use. The idea seems genius with so many possibilities other than just a sand anchor.
This is a bloody good place to mount 👌
Thank for info Ronny, I was thinking of putting ARB compressor in the cab but after hearing the noise, I'll find another spot. All the best and keep up the good work.
The Dead Man anchor is very good!
top setup under the seat, nice work guys
Just love the Wed Vidz!
New AirComp location should keep the passenger smiling :)

I have seen that dead man used, it worked very well.

Now that what I need in my mq triton will be giving them a call to fit one for me in the new year
Great video ronny
That's mint bro,
that bracket is amazing wish i had seen this before i put mine under my seat prob wouldn't fit everything under the hilux seat though
Any apprehensions for future deep water crossings with compressor mounted under seat now?
It'll probably work like a bilge pump :)
Interesting question, but ARB is saying that "Sealed for moisture and dust resistance". Hopefully, it may survive some water splashing...
It’s been outside for a year in the rain I’m sure it’ll be fine more worried about everything else in the cab like my camera gear in the event of flooding
Yes don’t sacrifice the the gear. We need more videos 🤛🏻

The compressor gets really hot. Wouldn’t it be better to keep it in a well ventilated place? Just a thought.

I've seen a twin compressor mounted on the side wall in the back of a Jeep (custom made bracket), but most of the ones under the hood are singles.
As per ARB, they are designed to stay outside in the heat, resistant to submersion and perform even with dust around.
thats a great idea
Another great video. Good day from the bay area California, who makes that under seat Mount? Wondering if they have one for me 1997 80 series.
hey Ronny, @ 6.13 with the fire extinguisher facing the way it is little feet can push the leaver if the pin falls out from the rear seat, leaver needs to face the front of the vehicle, something i would not know if i never had children,
The pin can’t fall out unless someone removes it.
Plus the lever need to be pulled up not pushed down
hey man i hear you, i thought the same, mine is in the same place, but when your car fills with snow while driving an outback corrugated road and turn around to see you son shrugging his shoulders and you have been in the car for a week or so the kids get bored i guess, moral is, out of reach is better than snow...lol (family joke)

Do you know if they are going to do one for a hilux??
Seems like it might be a bit uncomfortable if you were to sit in your seat with that compressor going off?
You ever thought about using Ox lockers?
Thanks for vid Ron, are PDP selling those mounting plates, if so do you know how much, cheers.

I’ll keep that in mind for next time I did actually try to film it last weekend but so hard to film with kids and dog. Anyways in short when I go camping with the kids and dog it’s a trailer that comes with me
That sounds good. Obviously, dog in the cab & kids in the trailer :P
Ned, how do you get the seat belt on the dog? Wouldn't want to see him hurt should the trailer jack-knife or roll and upset the vehicle :)
Isn't that what safety pins are for? ;)
Does someone from PDP own the red holden or is there something really wrong with it, im sure I've seen it up there on a few other videos
Its our car but a toy so doesnt get driven much.
@Ronny Dahl can we get a funny modified on the holden?
-50mm lift 😂
What camera do you use to film?
Your front seat passenger will get a thrill every time you inflate the tyres...
Will that fit in a hdj79rv Ute?
Rip Curl wallet = So Aussie
Heated passenger seat?
hey ronny! any reason you havent swapped out the carpet for vinyl?
I haven't flooded it yet

Does the bracket also suit the VDJ78 Troopcarrier?
PDP inform me it will not fit under the Troopy seat........
Wouldn’t that make the Cab super noisy?
Do you have plate for hilux n70?
i liked the vid !!!
How much is for the tray there Ronny?
those compressor get fucking hot on the farm we have them under bonnet i recon to hot for inside
When you putting the third axle on your 79?
👍👍
existe un canal como este en español?
Very noisy with the compressor in side like that. But at least it is out of the way .
Not a fan of compressors inside the cab. I’m a little worried about the heat especially when it’s close to carpet or seats. Not to mention every person having to leave the car at air up due to the noise.

I've cut the foot vent in my patrol so that the aircon pumps against it when it's on. And how is under the bonnet any cooler, if anything it's hotter
I didn't mention anything about compressors mounted in the engine bay but if you are asking, compressors in the engine bay are a safer option since there are no flammable seats or carpet in there.
What does your licence plate mean?
Ben[schatti] google it, its scandinavian mythology :)
Sleipnir, It's the name of Odin's 8 legged horse.

Hemal Velani na beat ya to it buddy haha
Doooowpp
Yeah and? What do you want a medal?
Hey, i got the same wallet.
3:50 yah all can see straight in the loo ...
move tyre to a rack put a cage where the tyre goes
probably not a great idea to put co2 fire near a hot air compressor
probably better of using a shop compressor with a proper air gauge
Jason howe a shop compressor wouldn't be very practical for airing up offroad?
