Dolega is about halfway between David and Boquete in far western Panama. The weather is not as hot as David and not as cool as Boquete. Many say the weather is just right with daytime temperatures at about 85F (29C).
In this video, Peggy and Rick talk about what it's like to live in Dolega.
Sadly, Rick died of Covid shortly after this video was made.
Dolega is a very affordable place to live in Panama. A furnished one-bedroom rental starts at $250- $350 a month.
Dos Rios is a neighborhood in Dolega that has estate size lots filled with fruit trees. A furnished two-bedroom rental in Dos Rios starts at about $600 a month.
Your Private Tour Guide can show you all the amenities available in Dolega and show you rentals too.

As a cancer survivor this is good to know. I miss my mum who died last year. I wish you the best!
I just watched this video and it reaffirmed my decision about retiring inPanama.Sorry for your loss
Thanks for watching.
After watching this delightful video, I was so deeply saddened to hear that Rick passed away shortly there after. Brought tears to my eyes. I was beginning to imagine what it would be like to hang out with him, if we hopefully end up moving there. Rest In Peace.
It's great to see that Peggy has found a place to be happy despite suffering a big loss. A good attitude towards life.
Peggy is surrounded by friends and very happy in Panama.
This video touched my heart. I would love to have coffee with Peggy
Thanks for watching the video. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I'm sorry for your loss. Your husband must be happy knowing you're happy and safe.
I am so sad to hear of Rick's passing. I've watched this video and his other one a few times now and he seemed so happy in his retirement and to have a lovely new family. I was happy for him. He seemed like such a nice man, too, someone I think I could have easily been friends with. My condolences to his family.
Rick loved living in Panama. He was very happy.
@@PanamaRelocationTours My brother and his wife will be moving there within the next two years and my wife and I are retiring early at 62 in 6 years which is when we will make the move too. I hope to love Panama as much as Rick did. The Minnesota winters and the stress of our jobs have finally broken us. We will be taking your tour before then. Look forward to meeting you all.
I love this! I spent many summers as a child in Dolega with my grandparents and that town has a special place in my heart. I’m glad Mrs. Peggy loves Dolega as much as I do.
I hope to be back soon in the near future and visit myself 😊
Well done. Love the desire of these two folks to live in "Panamanian" Panama. They both give a relaxed, natural and joyous vibe. Not much of that in the States these days. All the best to both of you. Thank you for sharing.
Yes, very sad that Rick got Covid then died
Have we seen this video before? I'm getting some serious deja vu vibes! Oh well, it was a great video to watch this time to.
Fantastic post, many many thanks, excellent lady and gent, each with a great story…
Glenn
Glad you enjoyed it
so beautiful there. coming from coastal southern california the green of panama is very attractive.
Peggy, I'm very sorry about Rick's passing. But I'm very happy that he was happy about his decision and that he got to enjoy his dream with you.
Sorry to hear about Rick, I'm appreciative of the time taken to help us on the internet learn about all these different towns !
Rick loved living in Panama.
Rest in Peace Rick,,,,, it was always a great time with you, I loved our times with you and your new extended family.
Rick loved living in Panama.

Nice video of city of Dolega. My condolences 💐 to Peggy for the loss of her husband.
Thanks for watching.
Loved this lady’s point of view and observation. Thank you for this video. From Quebec, Canada. Merci!
I like this lady! Great Video! I can't wait to take the tour. Studying Spanish online now. Thanks for the great videos Jackie and team! I look forward to meeting you all and becoming part of the FAMILY!!!
Thank you! 😃 So glad you enjoyed the video. We look forward to showing you what life is like in Panama!
I love her advice on what to pack ❤️
I will keep this in mind before I move this year !
Sorry for your loss... Blessings 🙏 thanks for sharing.
God bless you, Peggy. Enjoy Dolega! I will be down the road in Boquete!
So sorry about your loss. Love pets and horses too❣ I am going to move there but won't be able to move until later this year.
Is it muggy/humid there? I like warm weather as im tired as freezing my rear off here in the Pacific NW. Always wearing a jacket or sweater even in my house here.
Thank you and God Bless🙏🥰
I cried when you talked of your husbands heart being there. Beautiful video and life. We are visiting in September. Checking out different places. Maybe we can visit.
Enjoy your visit to Panama.
Very nice lady with a very nice story.
Very good information!
Thank you for sharing your story.
Hi Peggy. Just now watching the video. From last spring. Fellow Illinoisan here wanting to make Panama our home. Was really interested in the dolega area. Perhaps when I am visiting in April I will have the good fortune to run into you and say hello!
Sounds great!
I just loved... " don't bring your problems"
Leave problems at the border!! Then you'll have a happy life in Panama!
Great advice! 😍
Is city on the relocation tour?
Thank you!
I love the house and property ❤
It's an amazing property and house!
Absolutely delightful woman. If I make it down I'm going to look Peggy up!
Please do!
Beautiful comments, about the 👏Panamanian people
❤ from California 🎉
Peggy, your story is very inspiring and makes me want to follow your footsteps. How do you pay for everything? In cash or US debit card? How do you feel about all the infrastructure issues in a country so different from the US (electricity, water, weather, plumbing, streets, sidewalks, walkability)? How did you find your day worker? How do you feel about everything related to medical/hospital services? I found Mr. Johnson very interesting as well!
I'm sure Peggy meant, "welcome to my mansion". I am deeply sorry for the loss of her husband. What is the cost of living predicted for Dolega?
Pegge bought her furnished house on 2 acres for $125,000.
Happy spirits, the both of you. Enjoy....hope to be a neighbor in a couple of years.
What is the best internet I can get in Dolega?
Thank you for this. Are there libraries with books in English?
There are libraries throughout Panama but only some have some English selections.
@@PanamaRelocationTours Thank you!
Main issue is flight time to or from the U.S. is so long, then how far is the travel from Panama City International to that town?
It's a 2 hour flight to Miami, 3.5 hour flight to Houston. Not so bad!
Gosh, my flight between California and New Jersey is much longer, and that's even if it's non-stop. Also it's much more expensive than a flight to and from Panama. And that's via United. People who have access to Spirit Airlines should check out the dirt cheap prices they have to and from Panama. Like, I don't know how they do it. I've taken those too.
@@PanamaRelocationTours from Panama City
Am going to be there in 8 weeks choose dolega over boquete 🤩
It's warmer in Dolega. Many people think Boquete is too cold
Which beach is that on the video?
Do you have to have a vehicle or do they have Huber?
No Uber in Dolega but taxis and buses are readily available
What is hot 2 you ? I'm from Texas where it gets 102-105 f* in the summer
mid-80s in hot in Dolega
@@PanamaRelocationTours that's not hot , even with high humidity
From DFW, 80's is sounding really great about now.
So sorry for your loss Peggy. I would love to come visit. I am a 67 yr old female. I am divorced. I need a change so badly. Can you live on an income of 1,378 per mo. as a single?
Yes you can live on that income in many places in Panama. Dolega would be one of them.
What's the rental cost for a 2-bedroom house in Dolega ?
In Dolega, it depends on the house. I've seen rentals for as little at $350 for simple a two bedroom or you can get a really nice furnished two bedroom for $700.
Can someone tell me with the federal background check will they take digital fingerprints or the regular type???
you can get electronic finger prints at an approved place.
@@PanamaRelocationTours thanks so much for responding I'm getting my paperwork in order
Where from in Central IL. I am writing this from Normal IL. I am hoping to convince my wife for an to come to Panama for an extended vacation. Both my wife and I are retired
Peggy is so sweet!
Two deaths in this video. How is death treated for expats in Panama - do people get buried/cremated in Panama? Shipped home? Just curious.
That's a good topic for a livestream sometime.
@@PanamaRelocationTours I would love to know as I'm by myself too when that time comes.
@@PanamaRelocationTours yes
My grandpa was an American. He chose to be cremated. Yes, one can be buried or cremated in Panama. And if one arranges before-hand one can pick where one wishes for the remains to be located. It's always good to plan that in advance so as to not burden the survivors.
God bless you Peggy, your happiness is rich.
Why the mask?
