It sounds like you've found your perfect paradise Keith! I'm sure you wish your wife was there to enjoy it with you, but it's so nice that you are moving on and not clinging to the past. You're very brave! We're coming down in October 2022, and can't wait!!
Love your video..Very authentic ❤ I plan on moving to Boquete in 2023 returning for my second trip in January. I hope we meet at some point you have such good energy. Coming from Colorado I have lived my life in a tiny cabin in the mountains and have the same vision for my life in Panama. I travel on my own as I perfere it that way. While in Boquete last January most of the expats that I met took Jackie's tour and said all good things. The people are so kind and sincere 💕 Love your kindness and giving thanks and gratitude to your beloved wife.
Kieth seems VERY HAPPY. My condolences about his wife. I wish I could just get up and go as he did. Unfortunately, I have to wait at least seven more years to retire. My biggest concern is that I'll be 71 and too old to move abroad.
I am 86 and seriously looking at moving to Boquete. Alone. Female. Small and not all that strong, but I don't feel it would be impossible to do. Just sayin'.
His Lightening Bugs (fireflies) are known as "Cucuyos" in Cuban-speaking Miami. Those glowing eyes fill certain trees like Christmas ornaments when there is a large hatch. It can startle you in the daylight if you mistake it for a wasp of similar shape. They are harmless and loved, even.
First I've heard about a stairway up/down the mountain. Does anyone have more info about this - like where it starts and ends? Are there others like this in Boquete?
Keith I think you will soon have many American friends! You ' re very convincing! I had been thinking of Mexico 's Pink City (recent article in IL). I haven't signed up for a tour yet . My goal is to save up some money first. Thanx for sharing so genuinely !
Did you know we offer Private Tours of the most popular places to live in Panama,. They are only $250 a day for up to 2 people. panamarelocationtours.com/private-tours
$600 a month rental seems high to me, for a small, shared place outside the city. By contrast, I rented a studio apt. in Nepal for less than $200 US, all utilites paid. Good internet.
Thank you for your information: Especially about vehicles: From our understanding it’s very expensive to ship from USA. Great scenery ********. Also seeing the plants and their functions.
It says 9 months ago is that video from. I hope he's still happy where he is. What a great video, story and person. I hope i can find peace like he has soon as well. I'm a Swiss, living in Thailand, before i lived 2 years in Cuenca Ecuador and 2 years Medellin Colombia. Here in Thailand, i'm not happy. Maybe we will see each other one day. Take care Keith.
You almost always wake up to blue skies and sunshine. The rains don't start until after 2pm usually. So, you learn to rearrange your schedule to get your running around done before 2pm.. especially if you are riding a motorcycle.
Keith, I have Panama on my radar. I have been in Seattle for 10 years and soooo tired of the cold rain and short summers. I'm originally from Cincinnati and hopefully I will never see snow again. I hope to schedule my tour for September 2023. One question, how large is the acreage?
Good for you, Keith. It seems you have climatized well. It is a little disturbing when foreigners like to have things to be the same as where they come from. This kind of mindset can be detrimental. I am from Panama born and raised and started my world travels at age of 13. When up to North America to be with family and Europe to start a family (20 years each continent). Sometimes home is not the place where one is born and/or grew up (everyone is growing up as one learns). Yep, gots to learn that lingo. I learned all the idioms in the States and languages and customs in Europe. It is time to get back home to Panama. I am hoping live is not as crazy as it is in the United States and Europe as it is right now. We don't need that Sociopathic and Racist mindset as in the Gringo world...so called "West."
Hi Keith. Im seriously considering moving to panama within the next 2 years. My wife and I are pretty avid motorcycle tourers and I wanted to get your input on motorcycling in Panama as well as maybe fiding in neighboring countries. Currently we have a big BMW K1600 GTL and would prob switch to something like a 1250 GS. Buy there ir ship from here? Any tips appreciated!
Just added my comment and Thanks ---- saw it , but now not here ? Do comments rotate up and down on list ? or was mine wrong or ? .Mtn Mel - Deweese, Ret USN in W. Colorado.
I love your story. We have much in common. I am seriously considering moving there as well. Maybe we could exchange email addresses. What size bike is that ? CCs?
I think I am going to be comment 100!! What do I win?? Nice place and video. I wouldn’t like the bugs and any other of those animals have to stay outside. I have been to Panama like over 20 years ago. I wish I knew what I know now. Thanks.

That stairway up the mountain piqued my interest. I've looked through Google Satellite View for it, but to no avail.

Grew up next to Ohio. Tons of snow and very cold climate. Not bad unless you work outside like i did
another useful perspective
Glad you think so!

HI Randall. There are certainly more affordable rentals in Panama too.

Hey Keith
Great bit on Panama.
How much is it for your helper?
Thanks

Excellent move
Thanks for watching!
Amazing story
This is amazing! I wonder if one could also find a tiny house with a big garden so one may grow one's own produce and have a few fruit trees. :)
He moved into a different house since this video. Now paying $300 a month rent, house is a bit larger, and he has a yard!!
