Godly men aren’t necessarily wise or good, and have been killing others for millennia...beware false prophets.
His video said he’d drive to a marina and steal a boat, assuming it’ll be unsecured. And he’s a gun owner, who from his videos seems keen to concealed carry and willing to use said firearm.
I’ve enjoyed his content for years but I think a gun owner openly condoning theft is just a step too close to the cranks preparing for the apocalypse.
It’s no different from the looters who’d probably be robbing convenience stores, I’m pretty sure he’d take a dim view of that so this seems pretty hypocritical?
I wonder if I’ll be subject of one of his next rants about viewers upsetting him. 😂

    • @MrBillchair

@@thelankyjim Cody did say that he has been in the boat building business (as i also have, working at a marina) and at marinas, both diesel and petrol (gasoline) are plentiful.
I am pretty sure they would be getting a boat legally through a boat charter hire person, team or company. Cody would only resort to "stealing" a boat if the situation was dire, and it was a matter of life & death.
I don't know if you are a Christian or not, but Jesus questioned Pharisees who were thinking badly of him for healing on a Sabbath, asking them if their son or ox fell into a well, would they not save the boy or ox? ..."One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat in the house of a prominent Pharisee, he was being carefully watched. There in front of him was a man suffering from abnormal swelling of his body.Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in the law, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?”But they remained silent. So taking hold of the man, he healed him and sent him on his way. Then he asked them, “If one of you has a child or an ox that falls into a well on the Sabbath day, will you not immediately pull it out?”And they had nothing to say. - Luke 14:1-6 www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke14:1-6&version=NIV "
As for a firearm, he would not have time to get one in such a short time and I doubt that he goes anywhere unarmed, as he has a CC licence.

As someone who lived in LA you generally want to avoid the coast because of possible Tsunamis following earthquakes. While uncommon in the region an earthquake of that magnitude that would necessitate a bugout could pose a Tsunami risk. Other than that earthquakes in the area are no big deal at all, happen often and usually go unnoticed. Life goes on. An earthquake that wouldn't pose a tsunami risk likely wouldn't require a bugout situation either.

Well as a Chilean who has lived trough a couple earthquakes, I found this totally exagerated. If the building you are does not colapse you just survived. Thats it. You must have a radio, something to make fire since the power will be out, maybe a sawyer water filter and the cash. With that you can get to the road and hitchhike home, also because of the kind of tectonic forces present in the San Andreas fault the earthquakes in L.A. can't be as strong as it is in Chile, and here it was less than a week of moderate chaos (a couple lootings of stores and lack of fuel and power)

Nice kit, well thought out. My only suggestion is related to your emergency cash - break up the $500 in 20’s into a range of smaller bills. Some 10’s, 5’s and 1’s. The reason for this is because if electronic access to cash is disrupted in a large regional event such as an earthquake, vendors may not have the capacity to make change, and you don’t want to find yourself in a situation where you have to overpay for ‘X’ because the seller can’t or won’t give you change. This is based on my real-world experience during the great Northeast Blackout of 2003, where I found myself stranded in NYC with very little cash and all ATM’s were dead. For what it’s worth, when I travel, I carry $350 in emerg. cash - $100 in 20’s, $100 in 10’s, $100 in 5’s, and $50 in 1’s. Yes it does make for a wad, which I keep together with a simple binder clip. It’s roughly 3/4” thick folded in half. It will fit in a pocket comfortably, or if in an area were crime is a concern, the wad will fit in my sock (wearing long pants of course). Have a safe trip.

As far as terrestrial radio... it depends on your market. Los Angeles has some dedicated stations who will be on the air through almost any disaster. Smaller markets will probably be without radio. There's a big push to eliminate AM radio stations and owners are trying to extract higher profit margins and not maintaining their equipment. @@bilibiliism No, he took it home and a friend saw my boat (a wood canoe) on his car and followed him. Later that day I confronted him when he tried to tell me it was his boat but I built the damn thing and knew every detail including where I etched my name and info so I stood next to it and called the cops. He gave it up very quickly.

I realized near the end, that the only reason for this episode exists is to finagle how to do an Osprey bag product placement. Not that Osprey needs commercials, they are great bags, but Wranglerstar is trying too hard and it is relatively obvious.

I recently took the blade out of an old Leatherman wave on a flight. TSA found it, I showed them it had no blade, they said I should have put it in the bin seperately... but they let me keep it.

I mean, think about it. If the situation is bad enough that he simply must leave the city at all costs, how many other people are going to have the exact same idea? I thought the point of being prepared was so you don't have to go out and join the royal rumble for all the stuff people need and don't have. So pinning your hopes on a boat being there, and not looted, or defended seems like skipping straight past every normal person idea and deciding that any disruption in services makes it apocalypse rules.

TSA officers go through more training than most firefighters. Tools under 7" are allowed. If you come across a probie, ask for a supervisor. In checked baggage all tools and knifes are allowed.

Cody, Good luck getting even your Space Pen through TSA now after that rant against TSA employees. I am not a TSA employee, I am retired and have flown many times in my life, and rarely ever had even a small issue with them. Most TSA employees I have encountered are just doing their jobs, and most of them were there working last year even when they were not getting paid due to the idiotic government “shutdown”. Had they not been working without paychecks, our flying delays would have been horrendous. Cut them some slack, they are not as you portray them.
Also you profess often to be a good Christian, but that attitude toward your fellow humans does not support that premise at all.
