Oh My!! That sounds so cool. I am in Atlanta and consider it astounding that I could even see 2 (!) at the feeder at all! They stayed for maybe 15 minutes total, darting in and out of the bush to sip. They are so amazing. I guess lucky to have any at all but living in a place where they are more populous would be so excellent. Thanks for sharing that.
Hello from west coast of Canada! I have ONE little female that has come by my balcony for the last year, where i have flowers growing. They remember where they have been, which is amazing to me. She is all brown which tells me she's female. It always makes me happy when i see her. You have sooo many Hummingbirds that visit you that you have enticed me to get a Hummingbird feeder, which will help them maintain their energy with all the flying they do and keep them happy. Thank you, ❤️ the vid.!
These birds are SO insect like in how they feed and fly. It's like mother nature had just finished off making the birds and the bees, and then she decided to use the scraps left over from both, and created the hummingbird!. So much so, there is even a hummingbird moth who mimics them!.
Love this!!! When our kitty Squeaky got older, we had to give her sub-q fluids twice a day. So we sat in front of the computer and watched videos like this on full screen. She would just sit quietly and watch in rapt attention while we stuck the needle in and administered her fluids.
At about 1:03:15, a wasp lands on the feeder just left of center. At this point, their is a ruby-throated humming bird at center frame that is sipping while staying airborne. There is a little copper colored one on the right who is sipping comfortably while perched. He keeps looking up expectantly the feeder like he was waiting for a resuly. Just then, bubbles erupt in the feeder! The bird on the right is looking like he was very pleased to make those bubbles - though i know that can't possibly be, AND the feeder appears to have more in it, though! I don't see any hoses unless they are up and out of frame. I thoroughly enjoyed this lovely view into the lives these remarkable little birds. Thank You!
surprising to see them all so tolerant of each other. usually they're hateful. at least that's how the ones visiting our two feeders behave. which makes me smile when i hear people say, "awww, they're so sweet." um, nope. not really. they're actually jerks, lol. great video, thanks for posting!
You are so right! People are always saying aww they are so cute. Which they are. And then I tell them how vicious they are when dive bombing and body slamming their rival!!
Robert S yeah, i only see the girls share, and that's very infrequently. i recently added a 3rd feeder and that quieted them for all of two days. no fights. but "peace" didn't last long. we call it the Hummie Hunger Games ;-)
They are just amazing! Very fascinating species. I also live in San Diego county and have four feeders up all the time. I live near the coast near Encinitas. For me the winter months is when they become most numerous, and as you mentioned, ESPECIALLY around sunset. I'll look and every port on every feeder will have a hummer on it. I also noticed the more of them there are the more tolerant they become of sharing. where as when there are only a handful present, there may be one or two, (usually Allen's or Rufous) that become territorial, sometimes fiercely so. Awesome video! Always great to see a fellow nature lover.
The Ruby throats are what we have here in Missouri and they are very territorial. I can't help but laugh at them dive bombing each other while I set on my porch and watch them
Love seeing them perch like that and tolerate each other. Those look like annas hummers but mine are so territorial and nasty to each other I had to hang 6 smaller feeders to keep the peace haha. My bigger feeders with perches hardly ever saw perching because they are always paranoid looking for other hummers. They like me far more than other hummers and even wait by my hand for me to hang the fresh feeder fills sometimes. They sure are bold, curious little guys and gals. My neighbors all think im some hummingbird addicted weirdo, which I am..But who can blame me? Just look at them. A wonder of nature for sure.
Who cares what they think. You're doing the right thing helping these lil gentle and beneficial Hummers out. As far as them being territorial, ALL nature has a hierarchy. They're just fine AND so are you. ✌🙂
The hummers at my feeder probably burn off the energy they just took in by squabbling with each other. It's still early spring so hopefully they'll relax once more flowers are blooming. So far no more than two have shown up at the same time. If it gets more congested, I'll add another feeder.
Man, I have like 20 birds who feed in my yard, and I thought that was a lot. I was super excited when I saw 5 birds finally sit on one feeder, and drink in peace. But THIS is just crazy. I am only 40 minutes south of you, but I will strive to achieve this one day!!! Thanks for posting... I now have a new goal!!!
You have so many hummers!! We have 5 feeders and 1 VERY territorial male who works hard all day to keep all others away and I so wish ours could like like yours with them all feeding happily!
This video is amazing and very calming. So lucky to have this in your back yard. This video was put on in 2012, I wonder if in 2018 if they still have this many????
I hadn't noticed them until one buzzed past my head as I sat on my patio. I put feeders out and there are 4 now. I can spot them perching in the pine trees. Hubby has now started watching them
Like everybody else my humming birds chase each other off I have one pair that makes sure that the other one almost never gets to eat I think its the Rufous Hummingbird. What ever you got going on with your set up is amazing thanks for sharing. Now I got go check and see if Mr. squirrel is in the bird feeder.
OMG!! From 20:54 the two feeding from the single yellow plastic flower back shot/footage was phucking amazing n precious. Nature. True wild beauty at it's f!nest!
fantastic fanscinating little creatures LOVE THEM!! i only see a few during summer months with my feeder make my ownnectar thats recommended 4 to 1 ratio another words four cups of water with one cup of sugar regular granulated nothing more!! great video
Thanks for the video, hummingbirds are gorgeous, I love to watch them, and hear the frogs in the background too! Must get mine going too, if we ever have some warm weather!
Could it be that they are so tolerant of each other because there are multiple feeders here at this location? Surprising to see them generally well behaved.
Looks as if you have several dominant males. I love your video! I also do hummingbird videos in San Diego, Ca. I do not quite have that many because I have one in the front of the house as well as one in the back. Very nice job!
We have a saucer-shaped hummingbird feeder which is leak proof. We get a lot of Ruby Throated hummers, here in San Diego. We love to watch them! We also get a lot of Finches at our bird seed feeder, outside our dining window. While we eat, we watch them eat!
i saw just 1 for my first time since getting a feeder and i flipped out! (pretty sure it was an anna's hummingbird) good googly moogly look at them all!
I think you are putting some special sauce in that water.. LOL I have never seen that many hummers at one time and the cooperation between them is unusual too.. I guess you have the perfect fung shui in that backyard!
HAHAHA They are fastest. Of smallest bird Alive Once a male. Came close to me Flying around. I had one buzzing me every time I would sit in my backyard There was a feeder there when I moved in but not used. My mom is totally into hummingbirds and was visiting me. She pointed out what this male anna was doing buzzing the feeder and then coming within inches from my face. So I started the one feeder. What a bully so I put another up. Weeks later I had 11 feeders and could watch 7 feeders from my favorite spot in the yard It gave me something to do with my old broken fishing poles they make great hangers. Precious little hummingbirds! Love to watch (and listen to) them fly!
The thing that's sad, is that I could watch this for almost two hours. LOVE hummers!
whys that sad?
Because I could watch it for hours and get nothing else done! 😀
@@marthastout43 watching them is very soothing, work can wait a few ✌🙂
Not sad at all. One of life's miracles to marvel at and be thankful.
Such tiny birds, such very high pitched chirping. And the sound their wings make.
I like how the hummingbirds try to avoid getting into a fight, such lovely creatures
They can startle you when they fly up suddenly.

KingTesticus They are tolerant because it seems that all of them are plenty of food.
What absolutely enchanting little beasties. Lucky America.
Don't you just love that sound their wings make.

No your neighbors are just jealous because you’re a kind hearted person with a calm and soothing heart ❤️ for the hummingbirds 🌼😍🌼😍

It's amazing how accurately the hit the hole with there beaks
Juan martinez Holy crap you're right haha
Bob Newhart show
Birds have very keen eyesight! The better to "draw a bead on" which port they're aiming for. Lol 💜
It's almost as if their lives depend on being able to feed properly.
The low pitched buzzing sound is a lot like the light sabers on Star Wars.
This video is amazing and very calming. So lucky to have this in your back yard. This video was put on in 2012, I wonder if in 2018 if they still have this many????
It's 2022 and I wonder has it grown?
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️I have only 2-3 hummers here in Ct.....☹️.........but I’m thankful, & cherish them!!!
My mom will enjoy this video. Thank you very much.
I find humming birds fascinating, thank-you so much for sharing;) subscribing ;))

They're like big, adorable hoverflies
I have about 20 feeders and maybe 150 birds. I love them. They come and go. Live in Texas too.
I feed and watch birds too, hummingbirds are among the most interesting. They fly up suddenly and the sound their wings make!
Hummingbirds are very cute and awesome to watch

Thanks for sharing this fantastic video!
Beautiful! I have 3 feeders now and they still battle. They chill out a little right around dusk--it's about survival then ;->
Best video ever!! We don't see many in New England, and normally only the Ruby-throated.
LOVE HOW MANY YOU HAVE ATTRACTED TO YOUR FEEDER AND THE FROGS CROAKING EVERY SO OFTEN LOL
hummingbirds makes me happy every time I see and hear them and I wish one day I can see them in real life
I use 4 parts water to 1 part sugar. Ie: 30 oz container. 30/5=6. 6x4=24 oz water, 6 oz granulated sugar; no dye has been added
i love the guys waiting for a go.... lol the ones drinking are like ' ooh not yet buddy....'
This is so amazing, they're not jerks, they're very territorial. And there's a protocol in which they normally feed. But they don't like to share.
Absolutely beautiful!!! I love that 2 are sharing the same port at around 20:45 :)
Thank U for this video!! I live in New Jersey & I get so excited when I see the 1 humming bird that comes into my garden :p
I love hummingbirds! I did’t realize they were so speedy! I’ve never actually seen one. You have to really look since they are only three inches long.
I hadn't noticed them until one buzzed past my head as I sat on my patio. I put feeders out and there are 4 now. I can spot them perching in the pine trees. Hubby has now started watching them
You need more feeders out! Mostly male Annas w/some females and a few male & female Rufous. Nice show!
Thanks for posting this video. It was outstanding!
Like everybody else my humming birds chase each other off I have one pair that makes sure that the other one almost never gets to eat I think its the Rufous Hummingbird.

And I have just two magical humminbirds that visit my hummingbirdfeeder on my fourth floor balcony in Boulder, Colorado!
Could it be that they are so tolerant of each other because there are multiple feeders here at this location? Surprising to see them generally well behaved.
I'm calling it here and now........a 360 video would be one of the most watched on youtube.
Looks as if you have several dominant males. I love your video! I also do hummingbird videos in San Diego, Ca. I do not quite have that many because I have one in the front of the house as well as one in the back. Very nice job!

good googly moogly look at them all!
I think you are putting some special sauce in that water.. LOL I have never seen that many hummers at one time and the cooperation between them is unusual too.. I guess you have the perfect fung shui in that backyard!
What you need is an air traffic controller.

For those using regular water, It's a good idea to use bottled spring water or filtered water but not tap water! Amazing that you get so many hummingbirds,, Incredible!
Too bad we don't have them in Europe :'(
Fabulous birds!
No. They have hummingbirds in America.
I've got 2 feeders, and the hummingbirds are VERY territorial. I never see more than 1 or 2 at the feeder because they always chase each other away. They can get pretty mean!
That is incredible. You can almost see the level of the sugar water dropping. LOL
Great Video!
Ps. I also feed mine sugar water. and actually have the same feeder that you do. You are cool!
Thats so awesome!! thanks for posting this. I'm jealous :)
This looks like a tropical setting...East of the Mississippi we only have Ruby Throats which are all territorial...
My hummingbirds do more fighting than drinking ;->
Maria Lucia Gomez-Greenberg Put up more feeders to help this. It worked for me to have two.
I had 4 feeders and they still fought quite a bit, pretty spectacular dogfights in the air.
I have 3 feeders now, and they still fight--maybe it is their nature. They remind me of teenagers ;->
The next year when they came back OMG is was awesome and then I moved I gave away all my feeders to my neighbors to keep my hummers in the hood. I seriously loved them and just smiled every time I saw them. I had one that if I went thru my back door and out the front he would here the door and buzz my face as I came down my stairs When I changed my feeders out I would be at my table and what a ruckus it was until I re-hung them. This one perched really close to me trying to defend the 7 feeders I could see to no avail. I also could raise my arm up and down and he would go straight up and the dive at me then returning to his perch I swear it was like having a pet do a trick.
They are very territorial~
Wow, time to refill that feeder. I even saw the sugar water go down quick, lol. Nice video. :)
dang they have great precision
this is amazing
Amazing glimpse... not sure I can sit through 2 hours though. I upped a friend's video, but they look a little different than these. Cheers

I wish this was in my yard. I have four feeders spread out but I have one humming bird that thinks my entire house is his.. He chases all the other birds away and it makes me so sad because I wanted exactly what your watching in this video.. Any way love the video..

I just showed this to my cat and he went nuts.
Thanks for sharing your video - I enjoyed it so much (didn't watch the whole thing yet, but I will watch the rest later)
