Get a new tyre pressure gauge if you think thats 15 psi, there's no bagging out of the tyre at all,for slow speed in a pinch you can go down to 7 psi, makes a massive difference over 15 psi if you're stuck,on sand momentum is key,"letting it do it's thing" shows absolutely no idea of what your doing on sand
Yep. Running 17psi here. If we're spending the day on the sand we run 10 psi but this day was dirt roads 95% of the day. The whole point of this was to set the vehicles crawl control at it's slowest speed and see if it would still keep moving up hill
Crawling in sand is the prequel to stuck in sand. Back out, air down to 7lbs and then hammer down. If you have an automatic transmission, use low range and 3rd gear. Wheel speed usually helps.
Yeah but if it's that bad you should let a lot of the air out of the tires. A lot of people don't know because most Wranglers can't do this, but the Cherokee Trailhawk can do that too.
Seems like the new electronic system on all wheel drives just park themselves in sand. Brake lock. Matt's Offroad Recovery pulls tons of them. Of course this is at least a true 4x4 system on the Toyota. Tire for sand and rock might be Milestar Patagonia. Sure seems to work in Utah.
@@discover4x4 right, but they've been the same since 2010 😂. Just curious if crawl control today is different than what was released in '08, and if so what the difference is across the years. That's the complete wrong tactic IMHO. You never want to lose vehicle speed the the sand. Back down and get a good run up keep the wheels from spinning too much.
@@CaptainFALKEN they are mud terrains lol I’ve seen them listed as mud grapplers somewhere before and just been calling them that, but when I search them up I know what they really are.

Yeah. Well I don't want to drive a truck or Suv that looks like crap and has no towing power.....plus that won't last and I don't want a sticky petal. Which Toyota is famous for. Finally , why should I give Japan my money.
Let air out of your tires n it will move up soo much better.

Facts I hate these off road aids n tail control maps
It's not the truck it is a driver
Why didn’t you air down? 15 psi for my 4runner in the beach
If you turn your tires left to right as you’re going up hill you’ll have better traction.
Thanks for the advice
That only works for rc cars man
@@ynw.chavez9920 actually no it doesn't.
Legend has it he's still crawling
Even with standard shitty tires. Toyota 4x4 have always been the gold standard in capability and reliability.
My 3rd gen 4runner limited...would Waltz right up
Air down man 😢 I’ve never had to use the crawl control when my tired down to 10 psi
I agree with letting air out some to get traction. I sand drags for years and would run low air pressure all the time.

Ok. 2 things,
1: air your tires out
2. The amount of debris in the treads give you, suggestively, less friction

Good to see all tires moving at once tho.

Love my crawl control TRD OFF ROAD #TACOMA
Let the tyres down to 18 psi and turn the wheel back and fourth will work wonders
Back up and send it...YEE, YEE!
Subaru can do this, with tire-pressure-down mode and turn-steering-left-right mode combined.
40psi club?
Can't get no traction, just spinning wheels🎵
😂
The tire is actually digging down to the wet sand and gaining traction bagging the tires gives it more area to create friction!
the dreaded soft sand 😢
Slowly crawling or slowly sinking 🤣
Back it up a bit and giver the beans
Branches under the tire will help pop you out
Some A/T tires would help lol
That looks like a destination
XT…. I just put it on last Christmas, great in snow…. Not too sure about loose sand yet….
Actually it better to have light tires in sand so you don’t dig yourself in. The guy just need to air down more.

City boys buying 4 wheel drives. LMFAO!

I wonder if you let the air out some if it would’ve had better traction
Absolutely would. He's at 15psi here for the easier trail running we did for 95% of that day
Not a fan of wheeling in the sand.
I guess the advantage of it over mud if you have to hook Chains up you're not going to get filthy
Let air out of tires (below 20psi) and crawl control will 100% work

So much for the Toyota crawl control.
Now i know Not on a sandy
Exactly, but you got to play with the features to learn them.
Tire left and right and or get out and push while in crawl mode
LOL I could sit there all day with a cooler and watch these “dudes”
ATRAC will do the same thing, juat using the gas instead of a knob
interesting
Crawl control is atrac. Expect the computer takes over throttle input as well
Aren't you supposed to move the steering to the right and left so you don't dig yourself in deeper?
