But she was unconscious & never gained consciousness again. In the next 3 years my dad fell apart. Started drinking heavily every night. Eventually had an aneurism & died in the ambulance. Nobody’s fault of course. Just life. Your comment reminded me of thinking the same. You’re on this little sunlit ledge above a dark abyss. It’s not that you don’t know how deep it is. You don’t even know it’s there.. Not until the ledge collapses. & some people are lucky enough to be on that ledge their whole lives & think it’s the world. It’s not. It’s a million different things going right.
