One of the best podcasts, I have watched recently, learned so much! So grateful for this knowledge and wisdom! Happy new year, God bless you all! One love
Can’t stop the prophet I still play that album the way he turned knowledge of self into a super hero battle ignorance hatred and envy that shit was sooo classic and clever, salute 🫡 jeru hip hop legend
My friend's sister gave Jeru a lift when they were here in South Africa for the Black August event. Black Thought and Talib had somehow left him behind or something. Funny thing when she came back home she found us listening to Jeru's album and told us that she and her friend had just helped him out. We were excited and hoped they would have come with him so we could meet him cause we're huge fans of his.
I met and spoke to Jeru and Afu Ra back in the 90s in the Village in Manhattan. They were selling black conscious books on 6th ave., he was on the come up at that time. They was telling me to stop eating meat.
great interview always good to hear Jeru dropping knowledge. the interviewer needs to put the recorder in the middle though its picking up his voice twice as loud. Peace
Fire interview...i love hearing about the origins of the mc's back in old school NYC days and the roads they travelled and the things they learned. Knowledge and wisdom...
Just some advice for the person doing an interview. Let them speak and stop interrupting them. A good interview you let the guest who is a legend speak. It's not about you. Once he has completed his answers to a question then you ask more questions.
@@PositiveOverNegative666 then just have a conversation but if this was an interview you ask questions and let the person answer them without constantly intersecting and dude wasn't adding to the conversation, he was just interrupting.
Jeru dropped some of the best joints in Hip Hop.. one day is one of the best diss tracks ever...premier was recording with biggie and jeru around the same time thats crazy.. Hip Hop history stories are so crazy and are told more and more after 25 years
most important thing is to keep an open mind and be ready to learn. some see it as weakness to change your point of view but it's not if it's for the right reasons
What's up 👑Jeru"👍🏾👍🏾 l know this a old video you know I always wanted to hear you & Gza & Lil Dap & AfuRa & Slick Rick & Wise Intellegent all collab on joint together, l think💬 that will be Dope better than this bull crap that's fumigating our Air waves right now Big Major Up's to Bro👍🏾👍🏾 Ase' -AmenRa' ✌🏾
Love Jeru, and appreciate the interview. Some interesting information on this one, like the part about white folks. It looks as if Jeru's travels have allowed him to see how ubiquitous the issue of injustice really is. It is no coincidence that Jeru, KRS, and many Wu members, among others, have softened their once militant stances. Lets us really see now how real our forbears were in this fight that is still going on. An unfortunate brutally honest account of why things have not changed much for US here in the west, or the world for that matter. When the Germans start acknowledging the injustices we've suffered over here on this side, and again, globally, then maybe we can say they truly have love for Jeru, and original Hip-Hop culture. This ain't about color, so much as it is about basic human decency. Jeru knows all of this, but has decided to go another way. All of those places he mentioned, have their own language, and socio-political autonomy. Any guesses on how they achieved that? Anyway, will always love Jeru, but c'mon fam. It's not about being angry, but just truthful. Much success to the podcast, and again, thank you.
Bro England is dead!! The government here is taking all our rights away, economy is fucked, all national industries are being privatised, education system is shit and the healthcare system has been a joke for years, people waiting a year for a simple knee surgery!! Trust me any English person with money is leaving this shithole!!
That's a real Cipher. 5 to 6 God's studying 5 to 6 different things and Adding On with each other about it altogether and then trading the books, coming back to get a Build it Knowledge from another Righteous angle. It's not like that nowadays. Me and The 7 I met still do it like this but We don't know too many that still Do The Knowledge the old or Original way. That's how you break bread and wine, the corn and the oil, the milk and the honey.

Just was reading an interview with the RZA where he mentioned Truemaster gave him so many books.
Let the guests talk and finish there thoughts
Silence is golden. Being a good interviewer is a real skill. The interviewee needs to be talking 90% of the time
@@aaronjohnson6622i disagree, sometimes a conversation between 2 people is better than an interview. Silence isn’t always better.

Great interview. It's nice to see how Jeru has grown and evolved. I love his analogy of the young general and the old general.

Metu Neter by Ra Un Nefer Amen. Search for it, there are multiple volumes.
I must have turned into a old general... good ass interview.
The "interviewer" is acting like an immature fan instead of a professional. It's too obvious.
