  • Welcome back to the channel ! As promised got some more fire content for you guys to check out ! I decided to make this video because I havent seen not one video on youtube on how to do this nore any videos that expains it with detailed brake down. Hope you guys enjoy and grabs a couple beers and some herb and sit back and enjoy and im glad to be spreading this contentm for the lexus community and plenty more to come !!!
Im sure as you guys know the 2nd way of changing motor mounts out on this chassis is to support the motor up and lower subframe and rack & pinion but this video is for the people that dont have those special equipment or tools and in my opinion this method here in this video is the best way to get it done fast and easy
Definitely another video in a few months coming on how to do it the other way so subscribe , like , comment , share , and stayed tuned !

Try changing it on an Aristo with the GTE engine. What a HUGE pain! I had to take the inlet manifold off to get to the oil cooler etc etc. I got there in the end though!

Ay Shaun do I need to torque all bolts to spec ? Or doesn’t matter ? Cause I didn’t see torque wrench at all in video ?

I was able to do the passenger side without removing the exhaust manifold. You can cut a 14 mm wrench in half and fit it on that back top bracket bolt for the motor mount. Fit a pipe or something on the end and hammer the nut loose.

sup fam,new subscriber here. Was just checking out random motor mount vids for my 99gs, I'm still debating if i should change them soon or just wait until i take out the motor and or tranny so i can replace more parts while everything is out. We have had our 99 since day 1 and i'm always checking out craigs for another backup since we love that platform so much. I will check out you're vids when i got time, peace.

    Full Procedure List of Steps:
    Tools Needed:
    • Jack stands (4 total, but front elevated higher than the rear)
    • Jack and a piece of wood (2x4 or 2x6)
    • Sockets: 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm, 24mm
    • Wrenches: 14mm, 17mm
    • Extensions: Long, medium, and short
    • Swivel adapter
    • Ratchets (1/4", 3/8", and 1/2")
    • WD-40 (optional for rusty bolts)
    • Flathead screwdriver
    • Impact wrench (optional)

    - Disconnect the primary (bank 1 and 2) and secondary O2 sensors.
    5. Remove Exhaust Manifold:
    - Under the car, remove the three 14mm bolts holding the exhaust manifold to the catalytic converter.
    6. Remove Catalytic Converter:
    - Remove the 14mm nuts holding the catalytic converter and pull it out from the top of the engine.
    7. Remove Support Bracket:
    - Remove the two 14mm bolts on the driver’s side support bracket.
    8. Disconnect Oil Pressure Sensor:
    - Disconnect the oil pressure sensor using a 24mm socket.

    11. Remove Subframe Nuts:
    - Pry off the covers over the subframe nuts and remove them with a 17mm socket and ratchet.
    12. Jack Up the Engine:
    - Place a jack with a wood block under the oil pan and jack up the engine to its maximum height.
    13. Remove Motor Mount Brackets:
    - Remove the four 14mm bolts holding the motor mount brackets on both sides.
    14. Remove Old Motor Mounts:
    - Lift out the old motor mounts.
    15. Install New Motor Mounts:
    - Place the new motor mounts in position and reattach the brackets with the 14mm bolts.
    16. Lower Engine:
    - Carefully lower the engine onto the new mounts.
    17. Reattach Components:
    - Reinstall the oil filter housing, support bracket, catalytic converter, and exhaust manifold. Reconnect the O2 sensors.
    18. Final Adjustments:
    - Tighten all bolts and nuts, reinstall intake components, and ensure all connections are secure.
    19. Refill Oil:
    - Replace the oil filter and refill the engine with oil. Prime the oil pump before starting the engine.
    20. Test and Cleanup:
    - Start the engine, check for any leaks, and clean up any oil spills.
    Final Notes:
    - Double-check all connections and bolts for tightness.
    - After completing the procedure, take the car for a test drive to ensure everything is functioning correctly.

wait.. how come you just cant pull one of the motor mount brackets off at a time, slip the mount off, put the new mount and re-attach the bracket then do the other side ? I realize I may be over looking something but if you do one side at a time it seems do-able .. is it ? thanks bro

i thought I had to do my motor mounts turns out it was a random misfire. Besides that do you know how to get rid of the vsc lights after a brake job was done? I've heard of the zero point calibration when you jump a wire few about a minute or so to get the lights off. I've disconnected the battery for 10 mins no luck. Any help thanks

    • @shawn_built9638
      @shawn_built9638  3 роки тому +1

i never heard of that issue.. only thing i. seen before was people hanging the spindle and abs wire gets ripped internally shorted and will have vsc and traction lights until speed sensor is replaced and abs computer is clearned with scanner
