Top 5 poses for helping you to sleep. The Yoga for Insomnia Collection is a led practice. In this Collection, we show a yoga sequence, combining poses from the Yoga for Insomnia series for releasing tension and soothing the nervous system. We recommend that you do the individual tutorials for each of these poses which you can find in our Yoga for Insomnia playlist: bit.ly/2zyEGZ5
The poses are:
Adho Mukha Virasana
Dandasana
Supta Baddha Konasana
Setu Bandha Sarvangasana
Savasana
The poses we teach in this series will help to calm the nervous system and over time, can help those who suffer from insomnia to improve their sleep patterns.
This is a very helpful sequence for those recovering from illness.
This Yoga for Insomnia Series, has 5 poses which are all good for helping you get to sleep. This Collection is good to do as yoga for bedtime. Do all 5 poses separately to learn the poses, but in this Yoga for Insomnia Collection, Lin does the classic versions of the poses and Leo shows a modified version.
Yoga works on both a physical and a mental level and the poses in this series all help to pacify the body and mind. Do a daily yoga practice and soon the body and mind will find it easier to regulate.

What is the right time to do these poses?
Hello Rahul. Thanks for the question. This practice would be good as an evening practice to help settle the mind and the body. However, it is perfectly fine to insert individual poses from this sequence towards the end of a more dynamic practice, which you might want to do earlier in the day, or indeed to add this practice to the end of a sequence of standing poses. This is a yummy sequence. Is it correct to have the brick upright under the bottom of the back for that pose (can't remember its name). Thank you.
Hi Moira. Thanks for the comment. Yes , if you can manage the upright brick, it goes on the sacrum at the base of the spine and this should be comfortable. If this is a bit difficult at this stage, use 3 or 4 foam pads stacked horizontally instead. We hope this helps! Namaste 🙏. Lin and Leo

Lovely relaxing sequence but ads are distracting. Are you able to do anything about this?
Hello Vanessa. Thank you for letting us know. We do allow ads at the beginning of our videos, but last year, UA-cam changed its ad policy and automatically placed ads throughout all its content unless the content creator dictated otherwise. We have many hundreds of films in our back catalogue and we would have to go through each one individually to ensure that ads don''t intrude in the middle. As we don't have a team and the two of us are involved in trying to keep the yoga studio afloat in these troublesome times, It is only when viewers like yourself let us know, that we can do anything about it.
