Yes! It's most likely where you put the path to the tesseract directory causing it to close. Make sure you put the path exactly how I have it but to your correct location. Don't forget the double slashes! Send me a screenshot in discord if it doesn't work

Not able to backdate deaths. This is a bit more difficult if you're using a console. You'd have to do the following. Screenshot the screen where it shows "YOU DIED" on your PC (this will probably be your OBS window preview). Follow the 'read me' for the death counter to crop/identify the place on your PC screen that Tesseract is looking for "YOU DIED". Make sure your OBS is in the same spot every time, otherwise it might not capture the right area on your screen.

Tesseract is the program that recognizes the writing, so my initial thought is to make sure the French language packet is installed (this may or may not be automatic on installation). Next I would make certain that the death counter is looking for the correct works in the correct language. The explanation on how to change the wording it is looking for will be in the death counter 'read me' text file. That's my advice, let me know what you find/if this works!
Going to need more details. If the death counter won't even start. That's not a configuration issue. It should be able to be opened right after you download it. Not sure what everything is kinda stuck means. Try uninstalling, starting over and following the steps exactly.
CORRECTION. Did some testing. If the config file path is off it will cause the app to not open. Check to make sure your path looks IDENTICAL to this "tesseract_directory": "C:\\Program Files\\Tesseract-OCR",
@@chaosbeneathttv i was having a similar issue, upon further inspection i had double quotations from copying and pasting the path, removed the double quotations and everything else worked great

I have tried something and fixed it now it works. “I added a new text scene with Deaths: and added the counter after with a little bit of space on the screen. After that you ctrl click the text and the counter in the scenes and right click group selected.” It works for me now and shows up as Death: 0. And you can move both at the same time make sure you allign the text and the counter otherwise it will look wonky.
Hi! I got it to run but i am having an issue. I run the game at 2560x1440p so the crop and mask file are not working. its only working in 1920x1080 resolution. could you maybe tell me what i should enter in the files to make them work on my resolution?
Heyo! That's to be expected. I would recommend you try following the directions in the read me file for the death counter. There are explanations on how to screenshot and adjust the values/files for different resolutions! I have yet to mess with those, but anticipate I will have to in the future. Lmk if it works! Maybe I'll be asking you for advice next 😊
i tested a bit, and it works for me with " {"x": "990", "y": "680", "width": "580", "height": "100"} " for 1440p, you have to change the coordinates in the "crop.json" (just open with editor or so) in the main directory of the Deathcounter (Where you start the Deathcounter)

Great question. I actually use a dual PC setup, but it depends how yours is configured. In mine, I run the death counter and everything related to it (text file, OBS, Python, etc) on my gaming PC. Then send it all via NDI to my streaming PC. Lmk if that makes sense/helps 😅
It might work but you may run into issues. Whenever I've used shared folders in the past I've had problems with access from time to time. No big deal, unless of course you're counting on it for a process. It's better to run streamer bot on both PCs imo. Hmu in discord if you want. Any ideas how you use this counter when streaming through OBS on the ps5? I presume it can't backdate deaths?

sigh my death counter wont open but i did the config with all the slashes and everything kinda stuck now
